Hip Hippo Hooray Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
We received this submission from Jill at Jordan Event Studio, which she created for her son’s birthday. Jill made a hippo and balloon theme, with a fun red, gray, and blue palette. An old popcorn tin was used to add height to her short cake stand. She simply covered it with contact paper and accented it with herringbone and red ribbon. Another sweet styling trick that she used…the glasses for the strawberry smoothies had butterflies…

Merry Monday: Respectfully Red

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
This feature was submitted to us by Linda at Harper Event Design in Australia. She created a wintery wonderland for her daughter’s first Christmas using the traditional red, but she decided to skip the green. Instead, she opted for white to give the party a fresher vibe. We love the cupcakes from Kiss My Cakes. The design on the little elf cupcake and Santa are incredibly cute. Other sweet treats included sugar cookies, candy apples…

There is a reason why Santa is jolly this time of year. Everyone leaves him milk & cookies. Who wouldn’t be happy with that? We received this submission from Debbie at Wants and Wishes. She created a fun Santa’s Workshop filled with sweets, along with her own printable collection which includes “Santa’s Taste Testers” and “Milk’s Favorite Cookie” signs. Sweet treats included cupcakes, chimney squares, lump of coal cake pops and cupcakes. Of course, nothing…

We heart this table. It is so happy and colorful. Azar from Principal Planner Weddings & Events styled this table for an album release party. Her good friend, Louisa, is a cake designer and decided to make all of the desserts for her sister’s upcoming album release party and asked Azar if she would style it. They wanted to create something that was bubbly and fun just like Louisa’s sister. That cake is so simple…

Sweet Centennial Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
I love birthdays and believe that each one should be a sweet celebration.  Here is one featured submission worth celebrating.  Cara-Lynn Nisenbaum and Catherine McCulloch from Sweets Style, Inc. styled this party for Cara-Lynn’s Great Aunt Anya who had just turned 100.  What a milestone.  To honor tradition, they brought in serving pieces which have become heirlooms in their family. Not wanting to focus on her age, however, they incorporated some contemporary components as well.  …
