Pretty in Pink Baby Shower Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
Leanne from Sweet Style sent us these beautiful photos of a baby shower she styled. Her client had sent out invitations with a little umbrella on it so when Leanne was asked to put the table together, she decided to keep with the umbrella theme. We love the pretty, simple cake with the falling “rain”. Other sweet treats included cake, cookies, cake pops and vanilla panna cotta. We love the selection of white, pink and…

Pink & Pampered Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
Jenny from Bloom Designs created this “sparty” for her daughter’s ninth birthday. It was complete with facials, make your own bath salts and, thanks to the California weather, a dip in the pool. We love the hot pink vanity mirrors and the towels tied on the chairs. Jenny also incorporated creative spa terms into the sweets. The girls dined on “spa”wiches, curlers, pumpkin peel fruit salad, “spa”rfaits, and seaweed wraps. Their sweet “treat”ments included bit…

Potty Like a Rockstar Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
We received this submission from Mindy at Get Creative Juice and almost fell off our seats! In Mindy’s quest to potty train her daughter, she came across a philosophy to “potty train in a day”. Part of the advice was to “throw the child a potty party”.  We think she took that to a whole new level. She invited all of her daughter’s friends over who were “in training” & their personal trainers (their moms)…

A while back, we featured this teeny tiny dessert table that would be any doll’s decadent dream! Today, we are back featuring a party with a dollhouse theme. Louisa and Melissa from Little Big Company forwarded us these photos of a teeny dollhouse theme party she created for her daughter’s 7th birthday. Halloweekend Countdown: Thriller of a Party

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
Halloweekend post number two is a “Thriller”.  This submission was sent to us by Jenny from Bloom Designs. She created this glam Halloween party for her daughter’s 10th birthday. Jenny wanted to incorporate her daughter’s love of dance without making her party feel too theme-y.  Who better to find inspiration from than the King of Pop? She decided on an apple green and rosey pink color scheme. We love the wreath that she made from…

Pink Ribbon Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
These days, it is hard to find someone who has not been touched by breast cancer. We have been really moved by the amount of submissions we received in honor of breast cancer awareness month. This submission made us swoon. This shoot was styled by Linda from Harper Event Designs. The pink ribbon is the international symbol for breast cancer awareness and we loved the way Helen at Kiss My Cakes incorporated it into all…

Garden Party Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
While the leaves are turning a beautiful hue of orange and yellow in the big apple, Spring has sprung in Australia. This feature came from Nicole who styled and baked all of the desserts on this table for her daughter’s birthday party. Nicole knew she wanted florals in the theme and took the doona from her daughter’s room and used that as the inspiration for her color palette. We love the whimsical feel.  Sweet treats…

Picture Perfect Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
This picture perfect party came to us from Jennifer Cristofaro. This party was for her daughter’s 1st birthday. Jennifer decided to make it a photo shoot birthday party to try to capture every moment because she felt her daughter’s first year went by so quick. And we all know how big the photo booth trend was this year!  Speaking of trends, we mentioned the other day that neon is big this year. We love how…

A Collection for a Cure Guest Feature {+ Free Printables to Promote Awareness}

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
On Sunday, my sons and I were strolling through Central Park and saw hundreds of people running in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. For those who don’t know, the Susan G. Komen Foundation was started by Susan’s younger sister Nancy G. Brinker. Susan was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1977 at the age of 33 years old.  As Susan was losing her battle with cancer, she realized she didn’t know enough about…

Around the “Atlas”: Guatemala

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
It is always amazing to me to see how far our inspiration reaches. It is exciting and humbling at the same time. This feature came all the way from Guatemala. We love the fact that the dessert table trend has made its way over to Central America, and that we get to share these dessert tables from Around the Atlas.  Hans from Wunderkeks (German for wonder cookies) created this table for the launch of…

Sweet Fairy Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
Melissa and Kelly of Icing Designs sent us this enchanting fairy-themed party, which they created for two little birthday girls, Stella and Evelyn. “Sweet Fairy” invitations from their Etsy shop set the tone for the party. Evoking a magical woodland atmosphere, they made two gorgeous over-sized paper flowers to hang above the dessert table. They draped pink tulle from the flowers and positioned hand-cut butterflies amidst it. The tangled branch centerpiece featured more hand-cut butterflies,…

Dandelions and Fireflies Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
How pretty is this party from Amber of Party On?  Amber created this party for a little girl’s first birthday party.  What is so striking about this party is the vibrant color palette.  We love how the grey and black balances the bold hot pink and yellow hues.  The theme for this outdoor party was “dandelions and fireflies” and Amber brought in mason jars, citronella tea lights, and tin planters filled with bright yellow…

Beautiful Ballet Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
Ivy of Sweet Sorrella created this charming outdoor birthday party inspired by the Parisian ballet.  Isn’t this every little girl’s dream?  We love the sophisticated color palette. It reminds us of our pink and grey Valentine’s table.  Soft pink curtains frame a table covered in a beautiful grey plisse crinkled fabric, bedecked with pink bunting and a pair of satin ballet shoes. Sweets included candies in shades of pink and white: rock candy sticks,…

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
There are so many things to love about this special party, sent to us by Bec and Tammi of RubyJu.  They threw a High Tea to celebrate the 9th birthday of Bec’s daughter Abi.  Our eyes were first drawn to that tall spearmint-colored cake in the center of the table. With its whimsical swirls of frosting and the surprise multi-colored layers inside, this cake is pure fun. We love the many appearances of the…

Cute As A Button Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
Today’s cute-as-a-button submission was created by Dawn for her daughter Ruby’s fifth birthday. Sometimes the simplest ideas yield the prettiest results, as you see here with buttons and bows. Dawn chose demure shades of pale pink and baby blue to make dozens of sugar buttons. The buttons cascaded down the side of Ruby’s two-tiered birthday cake and were also used to top cupcakes. Dawn also used the buttons to adorn a plate of cookies that…

Pretty in Pink Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
We received this perfectly pink submission from Kelsey Anderson.  Kelsey designed this party for her daughter who loves all things PINK and wanted a candy shoppe party (maybe with a little coaxing from MOM) for her birthday.  Her daughter’s birthday is the month after Easter so Kelsey was able to get a plethora of pastel candy. The FIVE layer cake alternated between pink and white so that it would look like candy stripes when cut…
