Creative Macarons {Great Find}

By: Amy Atlas, in Great Finds
How cute are these macarons?  When we were in Beverly Hills on our Williams-Sonoma Sweet Designs stop, we were greeted with the cutest macaron package {which intentionally matched my dress, by the way} from one of our supporters, Katie of Le Pop Shop. We checked out Katie’s blog and found great macaron designs. We fell in love with the donut macarons above, but some other cute designs are her balloon, ice cream cone, and watermelon…

Amy Atlas Moment: Tea for Two

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
This Amy Atlas Moment from Seri from Little Miss Party Planner was created for her sister’s bridal shower. Seri made a “Tea for Two” theme using a pastel color palette for a soft and feminine feel. Sweet treats on the dessert table included tea bag cookies {so clever!}, macaroons, meringue, mini cupcakes, and a two-tiered ruffled cake. Family heirlooms like vintage tea cups and teapots made the shower even more meaningful. Teacups were re-purposed as…

Darling Dragonfly Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
This darling dragonfly inspired party was sent to us by Sarah of Dreamers Joy Events & Design. She styled this table for a co-ed baby shower for her sister and her brother-in-law. The theme chosen was dragonfly because Sarah found that in some parts of the world , the dragonfly symbolizes change, self realization, maturity, and a deeper understanding of life. A palette of green and purple kept the party fresh and delicate, while the…

You Give Good Love Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
I know that I am not alone in my sadness over the death of Whitney Houston on Saturday. There are certain artists that add to the soundtrack of your life and for me, Whitney was one of them. On the eve of Valentine’s Day, we are bringing a little love to you with some more Valentine’s Day inspiration. With all of the hearts, we thought this table is fitting for Whitney’s iconic song, “You Give…

Laduree Inspired Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
Laduree recently opened in New York City. There are always lines out the door and if you have ever eaten one of their tasty treats, you would understand why. This Laduree-inspired photo shoot was sent to us by Azar from Principal Planner. To pay homage to the mecca of  macarons, they tied in elements of the luxury brand by bringing in look-alike cookies, pastries, and of course, macarons. We love the gilded frames against the…

Willy Wonka Inspired Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
We fell in love with this post the minute that we saw it. Maybe it was the color palette, the creative use of the cabinet and scrabble pieces, the cake, or the combination of all three.  Either way, we felt like we won the golden ticket when this popped up in our inbox. Vesna from My Little Jedi created this dessert table for her son’s 2nd birthday party. The desserts complemented the color palette of…

Oooh La La Paris Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
We thought this post was C’est Magnifique!  Leoni from Just Call Me Martha of Australia sent us her “Paris in winter luncheon” that she created for her daughter’s 11th birthday. Leoni’s daughter loves Paris (especially the Eiffel Tower) and begged her for a Paris theme. To make the party stand out, she gave it a modern twist with a red and blue striped theme.  Most of the elements of the party were handmade and…

Happy Bastille Day & Sweet Origins: Macarons!

By: Amy Atlas, in Sweet Origins
Happy Bastille Day! Today is French National Day, a commemoration of the storming of the Bastille in 1789. Festivities include fireworks over the Eiffel Tower, a parade down the Champs Elysees and a picnic of 10,000 people dressed in white at Versailles. We say, where there’s a party in France, there must be the beloved macaron! In this “Sweet Origins,” we explore the history of France’s favorite dessert. Macarons are delicate round cookies made with…

A Little Birdie Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
Madeleine Kojakian from MaddyK Events sent us this beautiful feature of a baby boy’s baptism that she created last year.  This table truly makes me wish Spring was here, especially on this gloomy and cold day in New York City.  The colors are so vibrant and complement each other well.  I love the button cookies and, of course, everyone knows about my obsession with Macarons.  The Macaron tower is an easy way to add height…
