We are studying the Houndstooth pattern from our pattern board today. From coats to cookies, the broken check always gives a sense of sophistication. We recommend swapping out the traditional black and white houndstooth for muted mustards and taupes for the fall.

We received this Halloween submission from Mayra of In Flight Celebrations and love her spin on a Halloween display. Instead of the typical orange and black color palette, Mayra chose a neutral color palette and added pops of black and white, as well as owls and crows. Jennifer at Honeycomb Events sent us this “gentleman’s” party that she styled with her brother for Jennifer’s son’s birthday. Channeling the Rat Pack in the 60’s, they created a masculine vibe for her lil guy’s first celebration. Jennifer incorporated Houndstooth and plaid patterns for the cupcake wrappers, bow tie cookies, and printables. She also created a tufted leather backdrop to hide a large television.
