Green Halloween Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
We’re continuing with the Halloween fun with this green and black haunted dessert table by Allison of Wild Rose Sweets and Styling. Since Halloween has origins in the lush green hills of Northern Ireland {see fun fact below}, it makes sense that Allison chose to do a green Halloween! We LOVE the shimmery painted haunted house fondant cake and the printables on the drinks. Other sweet treats on the dessert table included chocolate covered Oreos,…

St. Paddy’s Day – The Stylish Way

By: Amy Atlas, in Amy's Latest, Great Finds
Remember when we did the chic version of a Superbowl party?  Today we’re sharing some fun ideas and product to create a chic St. Paddy’s Day party. I don’t know about you all, but I’ve seen one too many overdone green parties. Plus, I love the idea of taking traditional elements from a holiday and elevating them. The color way for this party concept was inspired by a MaxMara mossy green and taupe collection…

Frog Inspired Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
There were a few reasons why we love this party. First…how cute are those fondant frogs?  Also, this party could work for St. Patrick’s Day. Either way, when it hopped into our inbox, we wanted to share it with you. This party was styled by Karolien from Cups ‘n Cakes in Belgium for a friend’s baby shower. Baby showers generally happen once the baby is born in Belgium. A tradition is handing out the candy…

Elegantly Emerald

By: Amy Atlas, in Great Finds
1) Hobnail Pitcher 2) Cake 3) Emerald Dress 4) Judith Leiber Clutch 5) Wine Glass 6) Earrings 7) Living Room It’s official. Pantone announced yesterday that Emerald is the color for 2013.  I’ve always loved emerald, especially since it is my birthstone. The deep color exudes richness. Paired with other dark accent colors like navy, charcoal, or black, it really makes a statement. Think Angelina circa Oscars 2009 when she dressed up her black Elie…

Halloweekend Countdown: Thriller of a Party

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
Halloweekend post number two is a “Thriller”.  This submission was sent to us by Jenny from Bloom Designs. She created this glam Halloween party for her daughter’s 10th birthday. Jenny wanted to incorporate her daughter’s love of dance without making her party feel too theme-y.  Who better to find inspiration from than the King of Pop? She decided on an apple green and rosey pink color scheme. We love the wreath that she made from…

Creepy Crawly Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
This creepy crawly guest dessert feature was sent to us by Monique from Darling Details in Australia.  This was Monique’s first attempt at a dessert table and we think she did a great job. Monique created this party for her son, Charlie’s 6th birthday. Her son is all boy and told his mom he wanted a “creepy crawly” birthday party.  With excitement, off Monique went.  We loved the props that she used (how cute is…

High Tea Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
There are so many things to love about this special party, sent to us by Bec and Tammi of RubyJu.  They threw a High Tea to celebrate the 9th birthday of Bec’s daughter Abi.  Our eyes were first drawn to that tall spearmint-colored cake in the center of the table. With its whimsical swirls of frosting and the surprise multi-colored layers inside, this cake is pure fun. We love the many appearances of the…

Feeling Green Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
Going green/eco-friendly has finally become more mainstream.  I know that I am constantly trying to do my part to be eco-friendly.  A few things I try to do…I always bring my own bags (or recycle ones I have) when I buy groceries, unplug all electronics when I am not using them, and make sure I separate all recyclables when disposing of garbage.  This submission came to us and we thought..WOW, this is gorgeously green
