Little Pumpkin Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
The chillier temperatures of fall have hit NYC and we’re thinking of pumpkins and parkas. This sweet autumnal party was styled by Jennifer from The Pear Events for her little pumpkin’s birthday party. We love the addition of navy to the traditional orange, taupe and brown fall color palette, as well as the argyle and houndstooth patterns. Guests were greeted with apple baskets filled with tea sandwiches, pumpkin bread and apple juice. A dessert table…

This sweet Apple Orchard dessert table is perfect for fall. This party was styled by Brianna from Bee and Daisy for her daughter’s birthday. Brianna used a red and aqua palette, but brought in various shades of brown to make the table feel more rustic. She created a fabric wreath that brought all of the colors together. Sweet treats on the dessert table included apple cider donuts, caramel apples, homemade apple pie and iced apple…

She also hung tea-lit filled mason jars with twine from the trees. Sweet treats on the desert table included cake pops, chocolate covered Oreos, sugar cookies and brigadeiros. Her client did not want a big cake so Miranda chose a bundt cake which worked with…

Woodland Sip & See Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
We’re big fans of the ladies at Spaceships & Laserbeams. I may be partial because they specialize in parties for boys, but their parties are always creative. Stephanie created a “Sip N’ See” for her friend Jolene. To highlight the season, she used her Woodland Buddies printables collection which was designed by Catherine from Clever Monkey. Sweet treats included chocolate maple cake, apple spice cake, orange basil cupcakes and chocolate chip cookies all from Goodness…

Fall Feast Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
This fall feast was sent to us by Cris from Crissy Crafts. She threw a small Thanksgiving get together for her children and their friends. In Chris’ native Brazil, corn is a big part of celebrations. To embrace her heritage, “corn” was part of many of the sweets and decorations. Corn husks were used to dress up the water bottles and as a vessel to serve the food. Sweet treats included caramel and kernel popcorn,…

This party made us want to run outside and frolic in the Central Park leaves. It is very approachable and perfect for Halloween, Thanksgiving or fall. We received this submission from Catherine at Serendipity Soiree. Catherine created this fall celebration for her family. She used burlap to cover the table and risers which added to the rustic feel, along with the natural wooded setting of their yard. Sweet treats included homemade chocolate fudge cake, apple…

They spent the day eating caramel apples and pies, drinking apple cider and frolicking in the Autumn leaves. M&M’s, sprinkles and peanuts were provided for all of the guests at the fixin’s bar so they could create their own caramel apple. Every guest had a favor tag…

Owls and Raccoons Guest Feature Part III

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
We were here this morning and lunchtime with the cutest owl posts from Courtney Portner.  We just had to share these last few pics.  How clever are the owl and raccoon mason jar drinks?  All you need is felt, feathers, googly eyes, and mason jars!  We also love the signage from Spaceship & Laser Beams above and the personal owl posters to find the owl pillows for all of the kids.  What a fun party!…

Owl and Raccoons Guest Feature Part II

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
This morning, we featured this fabulous owls and raccoons party from Courtney Portner.  Now we’re back with part II featuring the dessert table. Honestly, can this be any cuter?  We’re loving the fondant owls and raccoons on the cupcakes, the cookies, and the HOOT lollipops. Other fun treats included “hoot” cake pops, bubblegum flowers and “marsh” mellows.  Courtney used a lot of felt in the party decor and she tied it into the dessert table…

Owls and Raccoons Guest Feature Part I

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
With the crisp autumn air rolling in, Courtney Portner gathered her children and their friends to celebrate the beginning of fall. And what a celebration it was!  The party theme was feisty owls and punky raccoons. Courtney made the color palette more youthful by adding celadon and light blue to the traditional orange and brown autumnal colors. Simple felt figured largely in this party – -on the capes, those fantastic owl eye masks, the…

Fall for Faux Bois

By: Amy Atlas, in Sweet Styling Tricks
There is something about the texture and design of a gorgeous wood grain that is so appealing. The french term “faux bois” refers to fake wood and the design has been used on everything from cakes to coasters and candle votives.  We love it for a design for a fall party.  Today is the first day of fall and we are definitely falling for faux bois!  Above are some fun ways you can incorporate faux…

Autumnal Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
Fall has definitely arrived. I am definitely a summer girl..but I do love Autumn in New York. The crisp cool weather, the leaves falling in Central Park, the marathon, there is something about this season that makes me fall in love with NYC all over again.  The only thing I don’t love about fall is knowing that winter is creeping behind it.  Cara-Lynn from Sweet Style created these treats for an “arrival of autumn” soiree…

“Monsieur” Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
Amy of Sugar Chic Designs created this dashing “Monsieur” dessert table for a stylish gentleman’s birthday party. She gave the display a masculine feel by incorporating deep colors and elements from nature, such as the animal hide runner, succulent plants and the birchbark containers. This table could easily be translated for a Fall party by bringing in acorn cookies, pumpkin flavored desserts and pies.  The hexagonal chandelier hanging above the table compliments the masculine theme,…

Happy Fall – Faux-Bois Fun!

By: Amy Atlas, in Amy's Latest
I posted last week about a project that we were working on at Amy Atlas Events. Since today is the first day of fall, we decided to create a fall-inspired dessert story to kick off the new season. A faux-bois pattern and acorns were the inspiration for the story. We created a lovely faux-bois paper for the backdrop as well as a custom acorn garland to drape over the backdrop. We’ll provide a template for…
