As we mentioned last week, we have the cutest Easter and Spring submissions sitting in our inbox at the moment. We are excited to share them with you all. This one came from Suzanne at Fanciful Events. The dessert table was based around the story of Peter Rabbit. Key elements from the story were woven into the table. We think the bunny ears on the donuts are so clever!  Other sweet treats included a bunny…

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
Our second Easter submission was sent to us by Katie from Petite Social. This feature was created for a styled photoshoot for an on-line children’s boutique. Katie loved the Belle & Boo prints they carried in their shop and created the table with that design in mind. She enlisted the help of Nicolle from Libby Lane Press to design the printables for an Easter Egg Hunt who used the prints as her inspiration. Using a…

Spring Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
Yesterday it was over 50 degrees in NYC. With the unseasonably warm weather, we thought it was fitting to share this springtime submission from Jessica of Prop Shop Boutique. Jessica created the party for her 6 year old. Soft pastel hues, beautiful flowers, and scalloped vessels gave this table a feminine feel. We love the party hats! Sweet treats included bunny cookies, fudge and an array of candy. This table is perfect for an Easter…

Bunny Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
This submission was sent to us by one of our readers, Jill. Jill created a this pastel blue party for her daughter’s birthday. Since bunnies were part of the design, we thought it would be great for an Easter party.  We love the simplicity of the white poms on the back of the chairs to represent bunny tails. In addition to the ombre rose cake, Jill served French desserts like napoleans, profiteroles, pale blue bon…

We have had a lot of Easter inspiration this week, and here is one more in case you need some last minute ideas for the holiday.  This guest feature is from Coby of The Lemony Cupcake.  Coby created a two tier Bailey’s Chocolate Mud Cake {how good does that sound?}, chocolate Easter cupcakes with fondant nests and speckled eggs, lemon meringue and caramel tarts, and mint speckled eggs.  This looks like the perfect way to…

Rustic Easter Guest Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
We’ve shown a lot of traditional pastel Easter decor on the blog this week, so we’re giving you a taste of some earthy, rustic Easter decor with this feature from Marcie of Celebrating Moments.  Marcie enlisted Whatever Whimsy to create the lovely sweets like the chocolate bird pops, nest cupcakes, bird cookies, and bird cake.  The color palette is subdued and unexpected for this time of year, but a nice surprise.  Very pretty job, Marcie!…

Easter Guest Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
We have more Easter guest features for you today.  Yesterday, we featured a couple here and here.  This latest one is from Suzanna of Mon Tresor and Vesna of My Little Jedi.  I love the “nest” meringues topped with persian pistachio cotton candy and speckled jordan almonds.  I also love how Suzanna and Vesna layered crepe paper runners to create a gingham design on the side table.  On the side table were baskets of eggs…

Easter Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
This morning we shared this pretty shabby chic table, and since we’ve been getting a ton of shabby chic Easter tables in our inbox, we’re sharing some more.  This one is from Jenny of Jenny Cookies. Jenny’s party setup was initially inside because it was raining, but she quickly moved it outside when it stopped raining.  The table looks great in both settings. Jenny made Easter egg cookies, bunny cookie cupcakes, Easter egg nest treats,…

Shabby Chic Guest Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
We have a few shabby chic guest features to share with you this week.  Since the colors commonly found in shabby chic displays are muted, we think they work wonderfully for spring and Easter occasions.  First up is Heather of Heather Equitz Designs.  Heather’s mother collects pre-war lace and she incorporated some of the lace on the table.   Heather made a beautiful runner out of a pair of drapes she found at Big Lots for…

Hello My Sweet Guest Feature

It is a beautiful day in NYC today. I am finally starting to feel like Spring is here.  Heather and Jason from Hello My Sweet sent us this cheerful submission that just put a smile on my face!  The table was designed for a birthday party for their nephew and, of course, the Easter holiday.  This table is a terrific representation of how “Less is More” and how you can find inspiration anywhere.  Their original…

Pantone-Inspired Egg Contest Winner {Egg-Cellent Easter Inspiration} With Egg Fashion Show

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids, Swag
Scroll down to see an amazing {and very funny} mock fashion show with the alter-eggos of top fashionistas! It is time to reveal the winner of our Pantone-Inspired Egg Contest!  When I initially thought of this contest, I envisioned that the eggs would be painted to look like pantone chips {like the mediums in the links here}.  It turns out there were many amazing interpretations for this contest.  Some contestants cut actual pantone or paint…

Pinwheel Guest Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
Joanne of Oh Goodie Designs sent over this pinwheel party.  I love when I start to receive pinwheel posts because it reminds me that spring is right around the corner.  With a pretty pastel palette, this party is great inspiration for both spring and Easter entertaining.  Joanne mixed different patterns like chevron, stripes, dots, and swirls for the party’s design.  The soft color palette allows for these patterns to all work together beautifully.  I love…

Beatrix Potter Style Easter Guest Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
Lilian of Lily Chic Events sent over this pretty shoot that she styled for a little inspiration just before Easter.  The theme was a Beatrix Potter style Easter brunch and the design was based on Mrs. Potter’s garden. I love the gingham-style gelato colored ribbons.  The pastel green bench, floating blue glass plates, wooden roses, and floral-styled cushions created a dreamy setting.  Lilian also had small terracotta pots filled with Easter Eggs and mini milk…

Paint Chip Easter Garland + Easter Giveaway/Pantone Egg Contest

We’ve seen the creative use of paint and pantone chips for many fun projects over the last few years.  It first started with David Stark’s genius idea of using 15,000 paint chips to blanket an entire venue for the American Patrons of Tate Artist’s Dinner {you can take a peek here}.  More recently, we’ve seen pantone treats like these cookies and these cupcakes.  We’ve even seen pantone chip magnets, dishes, and mugs lately.  So we…
