Little Engine That Could Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
Stefanie from The Petite Soiree sent us this party that she created for her son’s birthday. Since he’s at the age where he often says “I can’t” and since he loves trains, Stefanie threw him a “Little Engine That Could” party. The chocolate coal, train sugar cookies, train cake pops, railroad gum, and that great train cake paid homage to the book. Suitcases were used to add a little height to the table. I bet…

One Eyed Monster Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
We love the simplicity of this next guest feature and how well this fun theme was executed. For her son’s 2nd birthday, Vivian from Envy Anvi wanted to experiment with a monster theme.  However, since some of the guests were babies, Vivian used a baby pink and blue palette to keep the monsters playful. Sweet treats included cupcakes, cake pops, and cookies all created by Beyond Desserts. Googley eyes, which can be purchased at any…

We’re loving this pirate party from Bec and Tammi of RubyJu.  The table included “pirate loot” like treasure gold chocolate coins, chocolate milk treasure bottles, pirate cake pops, anchor cookies, and skull treat bags. We love the props like the pirate ship sails, the treasure box, and wooden crates. It looks like the birthday boy scored some “gold” at his birthday party!  Scroll down for the vendor credits. To see more pirate features look here…

Fly Me Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
Andressa from Twinkle Twinkle Little Party sent us this party she created for her little boy’s 2nd birthday.  Her inspiration came from a kite picture frame that she received as a baby shower gift when she was pregnant. Andressa built “Fly Me” kites for the tiny tots which they decorated with glitter glue, mini pompoms and stickers. …

Construction Ahead Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
We received this submission from Amanda at The Kawaii Notebook in Australia. Her son is mad about trucks so she styled this construction truck themed table for his birthday. Amanda used many of the sweet styling tips that I employ. She took styrofoam cake dummies, painted them grey to resemble concrete blocks and used them  as risers on the cake table. This is very simple, easy, and cost effective. Also, I always say find items…

Woodland Sip & See Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
We’re big fans of the ladies at Spaceships & Laserbeams. I may be partial because they specialize in parties for boys, but their parties are always creative. Stephanie created a “Sip N’ See” for her friend Jolene. To highlight the season, she used her Woodland Buddies printables collection which was designed by Catherine from Clever Monkey. Sweet treats included chocolate maple cake, apple spice cake, orange basil cupcakes and chocolate chip cookies all from Goodness…

Letter “M” Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
This party was sent to us by Sumayya from Mio Cupcakes in Australia. She created this party for her son, Maalik’s, first birthday. She decided on a “M is for Maalik”  theme and baked all of the yummy desserts that are displayed. We love the strong, contrasting red, pale pink and brown palette and the Mon Tresor polka dot printables.  The blackboard was a fantastic vertical element, and Sumayya’s use of white vessels were the…

Around the Atlas: Ireland

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
We received this “Around the Atlas” from Flavia in Ireland.  Flavia created this cute car party for her son’s 2nd birthday. Flavia created a table that was full of vibrant colors reminiscent of her Brazilian heritage, despite the limited suppliers in Ireland. I always say inspiration can be found everywhere. Flavia found the inspiration for the orange and turquoise color palette from a Gap shirt that she bought for her son to wear. She created…

Last Train to Aidansville Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
All aboard the Aidan Express.  This featured submission came to us from Belinda from Styled By Belle, who created this party for her son’s 3rd birthday. Her son loves Thomas the Tank, so she knew she wanted to subtly incorporate the theme into the party without making it too commercial. To start, guests were greeted by the “Sir Topham Hatt”. Cargo crates were used as vessels and the confections were transported in a train built…

Oh, How Time Flies Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
When I was pregnant with my first son, everyone said “once you have children, time just flies.” When this submission came in, we knew that we could relate. Jennifer from Inspiring Giggles styled this party for her son’s first birthday party. The party was inspired by a vintage airplane that her parents gave to her son as well as the party that I created for my son’s birthday, . We thought Jennifer’s use of astroturf…

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
We received these pictures from Nicole at Million Dollar Smile Celebrations. Nicole is a home baker who, along with her twin sister, likes to plan parties as a hobby. They threw this party for sister’s son, Drake, who is a Curious George enthusiast. They invited all of Drake’s primate pals for some good and messy fun. Invitations encouraged a donation of a book for Joplin, MO libraries destroyed by tornadoes. Along with those cute cake…

Vintage Plane Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
The ladies at Spaceships & Laserbeams are taking us on a journey today on Anderson Airlines! Stephanie created this table for a little boy’s birthday party. Their printable collection is perfect for little boys who love airplanes and, for adults, could easily be used for a bon voyage party. How fantastic is that cupcake wrapper that the vanilla bean cupake sits in? There are some great, cost effective DIY elements in this table. For the…

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
Who doesn’t love an Ice Cream Party? This one was particularly sweet. This party was sent to us by Sarah at Style me Gorgeous. She styled this table for her son Max’s second birthday. She then called upon Enchanted Belles to create that adorable cake…

This party was on full throttle. We received this Vintage Racing guest dessert feature from Kate of Kiss Me Kate in Australia. She styled this party for a 6 year old who loves race cars. Her inspiration was taken from the Grand Prix and with printables from Anders Ruff, she captured the excitement and thrills of being behind a fast car. Vintage World Series Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
My house is definitely a baseball house. My husband and our sons are huge Mets fans and love watching the games together. While the World Series is still in full swing, we wanted to share this World Series dessert table that we received from Lauryn at Creative Stations. Lauryn styled this table for a World Series party at the Westin in downtown St. Louis. We love that Lauryn chose an Americana palette rather than…

It’s a bird, It’s a plane…it’s a super cute party for a little boy’s 6th birthday. We received this Superhero party from Thetis at Little Sooti down under. Bold colors and strong graphics in the printables set the tone for the party. Kids were entertained by Batman and  a life size telephone booth that Thetis made from a refrigerator box. Car Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
This cute little car themed party was created by Belinda from Styled by Belle. She styled this party for a little boy’s 1st  birthday party.  His mother wanted a palette of blue, green and white to differentiate it from a “big boys” party. She cut car shapes in blue, green & white cardboard and sewed them together to make a hanging garland as the backdrop. Sweet treats included the cake, chocolate covered marshmallow pops, layered…
