Lego Inspired Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
Jacki of Blissfully Sweet transformed her home into Lego Headquarters for her son Liam’s birthday. Inspired by a Lego cake created by the talented Ron Ben-Israel, Jacki crafted her own magnificent version by covering blocks of Styrofoam and placing an edible Ninjago figure on top. Using the same bright color scheme, Jacki made several more Lego-themed sweet treats: cake pops, cookies, cupcakes, “Lego jello,” and personalized candy bars. We love the colorful display of…

Beautiful Ballet Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
Ivy of Sweet Sorrella created this charming outdoor birthday party inspired by the Parisian ballet.  Isn’t this every little girl’s dream?  We love the sophisticated color palette. It reminds us of our pink and grey Valentine’s table.  Soft pink curtains frame a table covered in a beautiful grey plisse crinkled fabric, bedecked with pink bunting and a pair of satin ballet shoes. Sweets included candies in shades of pink and white: rock candy sticks,…

Lisa and I are sitting outside having lunch in the great town of Minneapolis today.  It just feels like a Superhero type of day.  So, we are posting our second Superhero feature.  It is fun to see the different take on the same theme, although the colors remain consistent.  Leony from Ma’ Cake in Australia created this party for her son who loves ALL Superheroes.  He does not discriminate! Leony created all of the desserts…

Super Spidey Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
This featured submission was sent to us by Smita, attorney by day and blogger from The Party Wall by night. Smita’s four-year old son absolutely adores Spiderman, so she put together this Marvel-ous birthday party for him. We love how the bright retro pop art graphics contrast with the hand-drawn skyscraper background. The table looks like it came straight out of a comic book! The superhero treats included Spiderman cake pops, Spiderman cookies and red…

Vintage Firetruck Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
Angela of Queen of Tarts made this really cute fire truck themed table for her son’s 3rd birthday party.  She was inspired by a fire truck invitation from Dimple Prints. To make the table feel more youthful, Angela brought in ticking stripes, oversized dots, and the pop of aqua color into the design.  Desserts included a firetruck cake that Angela made {which was Valrhona chocolate, with Tahitian Vanilla buttercream and covered in Marshmallow fondant –…

We thought this post was C’est Magnifique!  Leoni from Just Call Me Martha of Australia sent us her “Paris in winter luncheon” that she created for her daughter’s 11th birthday. Leoni’s daughter loves Paris (especially the Eiffel Tower) and begged her for a Paris theme. To make the party stand out, she gave it a modern twist with a red and blue striped theme.  Most of the elements of the party were handmade and…

Goldilocks & Three Bears Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
We’re seeing a lot of classic nursery tale themed parties popping up in our inbox lately.  This Goldilocks and The Three Bears party guest feature from Paula of Frog Prince Paperie is “Just Right” as the famous author Robert Southey once wrote.  Guests were invited to the party with a Goldilocks board book and “Bear Mail” bookplate/invitation.  Paula created a bear house vibe for the birthday party.  She used a painted bead board…

Rainbow Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
This rainbow birthday guest dessert feature from Suzi of Alannah Rose is absolutely precious.  You may remember Suzi’s daughter Alannah’s 5th birthday party last year when we featured it here.  Everything about this table brings out my inner six year old child.  When I was younger, I begged my parents for any unicorn and cloud satin mobile I could get my hands on.  There is something about rainbows, unicorns, and clouds that are so dreamy,…

“She’s About to Pop” Bubbles Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
How cute is this “She’s About to Pop” guest dessert feature from Jessica of Pen n Paper Flowers?  Jessica centered the design completely on “bubbles” and played off the word “pop.”  I love the backdrop that was made to look like floating bubbles, created entirely out of plastic plates!  Jessica was inspired by our lollipop trees from our cherry blossom table for her lolliPOP trees.  She also used bubble oreos, bubble cupcake POPs, POP ’ems,…
