We’re being swept away to tropical paradise today with this innovative party sent to us by Natalie from Events by Nat in Australia. Natalie styled this party for a client’s 21st birthday party and filled the party with bright colors and patterns. Inspired by a pair of pants the guest of honor owned {love that!}, Natalie incorporated the pattern of the pants into the invitation, the cake and the chocolate wrappers. She also draped a…

Honey Baby Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
Anne of El’uccellino Design styled this “birds and the Mommy to bee” dessert table for a client’s baby shower. Anne brought in burlap and birdcages to play up the theme. She found grapevine cones at the craft store and turned them into beehives by attaching felt circles and fake bees. She also hung construction paper bird cut outs with ribbon and guests wrote their wishes for the ba-bee on the birds. Sweet treats on the…

Flirty Birdie Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
This colorful bird party made us all smile this morning. We love how Angela from Angela Marie Events incorporated summery elements for this end of school year/ beginning of summer party. Angela used wooden birdcages, branches with felt birds, and bird nests for this outdoor party. Angela didn’t shy away from color and pattern {love!}, even though the party has a rustic vibe. Sweet treats on the dessert table included bird cookies, edible nests filled…

Yellow and Grey Baby Shower Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
We are going from a yellow and lilac party from this morning to a yellow and grey color palette with this baby shower that was styled by Flavia of Fete & Fete. The baby shower was a joint effort of a few friends to celebrate the pending arrival of a friend’s baby girl. Flavia took her inspiration for the party decor from a blanket in the baby’s room that had birds imprinted on one side…

Sweet treats on the dessert table included store bought Valentine’s Cakes that she turned into cake pops, heartmallows, white brigadeiro, chocolate covered fortunate cookies and heart shaped sandwiches. Bird Watching

Photography credits:  1)  Dress  2) Ornaments 3) Cake  4) Pitcher 5)  Glasses   6) Pillow  7) Tray While Lucy Liu’s floral Caroline Herrerra dress at the Golden Globes last night may have taken it a step too far, I STILL love how bird and floral motifs have been prominently showcased in design and fashion recently. The Japanese scenics that were first used on Kakiemon porcelain in the 17th century adds a touch of whimsy and elegance,…

Toile Inspired Baby Shower

Kristy Marek from Imbue Weddings sent us these photos of a dessert table she created for her own baby shower.  We love the toile backdrop and the subtle bird and heart theme woven throughout the table.  Kristy’s inspiration came from her love of toile patterns and French Provincial design.  Desserts were made by Kristy and included the heart cookies, macarons, and lemon meringue tarts.  So pretty and romantic. Rustic Easter Guest Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
We’ve shown a lot of traditional pastel Easter decor on the blog this week, so we’re giving you a taste of some earthy, rustic Easter decor with this feature from Marcie of Celebrating Moments.  Marcie enlisted Whatever Whimsy to create the lovely sweets like the chocolate bird pops, nest cupcakes, bird cookies, and bird cake.  The color palette is subdued and unexpected for this time of year, but a nice surprise.  Very pretty job, Marcie!…

A Little Birdie Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
Madeleine Kojakian from MaddyK Events sent us this beautiful feature of a baby boy’s baptism that she created last year.  This table truly makes me wish Spring was here, especially on this gloomy and cold day in New York City.  The colors are so vibrant and complement each other well.  I love the button cookies and, of course, everyone knows about my obsession with Macarons.  The Macaron tower is an easy way to add height…

Bird-Inspired Guest Dessert Table Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
It seems that Australia has really taken to the dessert table trend! Suzi of Alannah Rose Stationery Boutique from Melbourne, Australia, sent over these darling pictures of her daughter’s 5th bird-themed birthday party. I want to tweet to the world how cute this party is, as no detail was left undone for Alannah’s special day. There were “ginger-bird” cookie favors, a “thirsty bird” drink bar, a hanging cookie bird tree, and a beautiful bird cake.…
