We must admit…we have a girl crush…or FOUR! The season premiere of GIRLS is Sunday and we are very excited. There is something very raw and honest about Lena Dunham’s writing..not to mention it takes place in Brooklyn. What we love about this show is that the characters are not afraid to show their flaws. In fact,…

1. DVF Dress 2. Cuff 3. Shoes 4. Necklace 5. Ikat Tray
I hope you’ve enjoyed our holiday wish lists. Above are some items that I had picked out for my holiday wish list a while back. Truthfully, I debated even putting up this series after last week’s shooting in Newtown. It all seems so trivial. Yes, the items above are all great, but if I’m being perfectly honest, what I really want is happiness,…

Our friend Bird from Bird’s Party asked us to be part of her Pinterest 12 Days of Christmas Party Ideas Giveaway. Our inspiration was Silver and Gold, which is perfect for the holidays. We think Jewel tones are going to be big in 2013 and Gold is a great accent for those rich colors. You can see all of our Silver and Gold inspiration on Pinterest here.

We have a new obsession. One of our clients turned us on to Sweetniks and we are smitten. Sweetniks makes handmade candy and confections and these edible pieces of art are as delicious as they look. We used their lollipops recently on a dessert table and the pops were a huge hit. With cute names like Sux in the City and flavors like Salted Margarita and Violet Flower, these are also a great hostess gift.…

1) Hobnail Pitcher 2) Cake 3) Emerald Dress 4) Judith Leiber Clutch 5) Wine Glass 6) Earrings 7) Living Room
It’s official. Pantone announced yesterday that Emerald is the color for 2013. I’ve always loved emerald, especially since it is my birthstone. The deep color exudes richness. Paired with other dark accent colors like navy, charcoal, or black, it really makes a statement. Think Angelina circa Oscars 2009 when she dressed up her black Elie…

I’ll admit it…I’m having Art Basel envy. Many of my friends are currently attending Art Basel in Miami, where beautiful art gets revealed each year. I’m staying in NYC for holiday parties, but am still getting an Art Basel fix with a little cyber inspiration. A lot of people ask me what inspires me. The truth is…it is anything and everything. My advice is always to look in unexpected places. Design inspiration can come from…

The first night of Hanukkah is already this Saturday. My boys are already asking about when they’ll get to taste their Sufganiyot. On Hanukkah, it is a tradition to eat these jelly filled, deep fried doughnuts. It is just one of the fried foods {there are also latkes} that reminds us of the miracle that occurred during the Maccabean Revolt, when oil that was lighting the sacred lamp during the rededication of the holy temple…

My friend Bakerella has done it again. Just in time for the holidays, she came out with a Cake Pops Holidays book. Remember her first book? This holiday edition is equally creative and the perfect dose of inspiration, especially when we have all seen just about everything over and over again on the web. That’s what I love about her. Her Bakerella mind is constantly spinning with creative ideas to turn cake, frosting and a…

1) Peppermint Macarons 2) White chocolate covered peppermint sticks 3) Peppermint Cream Bites 4) Peppermint Cake 5) Chocolate covered peppermint bark
Nothing says winter quite like peppermint, right? Just the thought of it can make your tongue tingle. When I was very young, my dad used to take me to a magical place called Peppermint Park in NYC. We would go there in the winters and order peppermint ice cream with crushed peppermint candy on…

Thanksgiving is finally here tomorrow. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. Thanksgiving is hands down my favorite holiday (except for the all of the sweets on Halloween, of course). It is a time when my whole family comes together to eat, share stories, reconnect. We talk into the very late hours of the night, while re-warming stuffing and sweet potato pie leftovers. I look forward to it more than any single day…

Today, Hostess Brands announced that they are closing down their operations. It is sad to see an 82 year old company close their business. Their beloved Twinkie has received its share of criticism, but we think many will agree that the oblong yellow cake filled with sweet cream will be missed. If you don’t have time to run out and get Twinkies at your local grocery and you don’t want to wait to see who…

We are studying the Houndstooth pattern from our pattern board today. From coats to cookies, the broken check always gives a sense of sophistication. We recommend swapping out the traditional black and white houndstooth for muted mustards and taupes for the fall.
For a look at more of our design boards, look here, here, and here.…
