Halloweekend Countdown: Spooky Supper

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
Halloween is only a few days away and we love this spooky dinner party by Nikki at Nikki Ikkin. Her party was inspired by Dennison Bogie books. She used fringed paper to mimic the illustrations in the book. Sweet treats included scary black cat and spider web cookies, mummy Oreo pops and a three-tiered Trick-or-Treat cake. Since the dinner party was small, the top two tiers of Nikki’s cake were made of Styrofoam. “Black Magic”…

Halloweekend Countdown: Vampire Mixology

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
Halloweekend countdown continues today with this “Bloody Bar” party from the ladies over at One Charming Party that is  full of inspiration for your next adult Halloween party. One of my tips when throwing a party is to always give your guests something to drink when they arrive. The cocktails created for this party were the “Hemoglobpolitan”, “Stabbery Daiquiri” and “Gin and Tourniquet.”  Hypodermic stirring needle straws, plucked eyeball olives, and beetle juice were also…

Halloweekend Countdown: Horror Movie Madness

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
One of my earliest memories ever is the first time I saw a horror movie. Well, it was just a preview of a horror movie, but it was enough to get me scared out of my skull.  I was about 4 years old and ready to watch a more kid-appropriate movie with my parents and brother when a preview for King Kong came on.  I can remember yelling so loud that my dad had to…

Halloweekend Countdown: Orange & Black Cupcakes

By: Amy Atlas, in Great Finds, Recipes
Zebra patterns are always very popular. Kathryn from Sugar Tumble sent us her tutorial on how to make orange and black zebra cupcakes for halloween. These are super cute and would be easy to do with your little monsters. By switching out the colors, these would be great for tailgate parties or Super Bowl parties. Even better, change the colors to match your child’s school’s colors and we bet they would be snatched up quickly…
