It is dreary in NYC today so this Oranges and Lemons themed baby shower inspired by the nursery rhyme is bringing us cheer. The party is from Robyn and Lisa of Lettuce & Co. from down under and since it is spring in Australia, the theme is quite perfect. The colors were great since the client didn’t know if she was having a boy or girl. We love how Robyn and Lisa captured the old history of the rhyme with rustic elements, while incorporating the symbol of a new life with the spring-like colors and flavors. The rhyme was written on a chalkboard which hung above the dessert table. Sweet treats included tangy lemon curd mousse pots, layered orange cakes with buttercream, jam drop biscuits filled with orange marmalade and lemon curd, mini lemon meringues, and the gorgeous ruffled citrus cake. A vintage pram was filled with fresh lemonade and flowers. SO sunny and sweet! Scroll down for the vendor credits.
Fun Fact: Which do you think came first…the fruit orange or the color orange? The answer is the fruit, which is derived from the sanskrit word naranga.
