Drink of the Month: Root & {Guinness} Beer Float from Butter & Scotch

By: Amy Atlas, in Recipes

A trend in the dessert world is mixing spirits and sweets. In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, Brooklyn based Butter & Scotch is sharing their recipe with us for a Root & Beer Float. How great does that sound? Owned by Keavy Blueher of Kumquat Cupcakery and Allison Kave of First Prize Pies, Butter & Scotch specializes in a wide range of boozy, and not-so-boozy desserts. You can find them every weekend at the Brooklyn Flea market.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

1 large scoop of vanilla ice cream
2 oz of ROOT liqueur.  You can find it here.
8 oz of Guinness stout beer

Step 1: Drop a scoop of ice cream into a large, frosty mug.

Step 2: Pour a shot of ROOT liqueur over the ice cream

Step 3:  Fill  the top of the glass with Guinness stout.

Step 4: Serve with a spoon and a straw, and enjoy!
