My friend Bakerella has done it again. Just in time for the holidays, she came out with a Cake Pops Holidays book. Remember her first book? This holiday edition is equally creative and the perfect dose of inspiration, especially when we have all seen just about everything over and over again on the web. That’s what I love about her. Her Bakerella mind is constantly spinning with creative ideas to turn cake, frosting and a…

What a title to this post, right? Enough to make one’s head spin with excitement. That’s what last month was like for me and I’m here to tell you all about it. I recently signed on to a program with IKEA, OWN and O Magazine called The Life Improvement Project. The Life Improvement Project is a site designed for people to be inspired about ways to live in their home. It’s a place to share…

Every time I see the harlequin pattern, it makes us think of clowns and the circus. How about you? We love how this variation of the harlequin pattern on the cake in this party from Jayme of Jayme Marie Designs. She styled this party for her son’s third birthday. She was inspired to create a fun circus theme by the color in the bow ties she purchased for her sons to wear. The oversized balloons…

1) Peppermint Macarons 2) White chocolate covered peppermint sticks 3) Peppermint Cream Bites 4) Peppermint Cake 5) Chocolate covered peppermint bark
Nothing says winter quite like peppermint, right? Just the thought of it can make your tongue tingle. When I was very young, my dad used to take me to a magical place called Peppermint Park in NYC. We would go there in the winters and order peppermint ice cream with crushed peppermint candy on…

We hope you all had a wonderful weekend. We are starting the week off with this beautiful dessert table from Kirsten at A Little Polkadot in Australia that she styled for a little boy’s christening. We love the backdrop that Kirsten created using wallpaper and picture frames. The white frames and white vessels popped against the charcoal gray backdrop. Bountiful Hydrangea and custom covered plaid riser boxes were also great touches for this party. Sweet…

We hope you all had a wonderful weekend. We had a wonderful time with our families and we’re already counting down the days until Thanksgiving next year. Even though we started sharing winter inspiration, we’re still not quite over the fall. We think this fall dessert table from Marie at Sweets Indeed is perfect to bookmark for next Thanksgiving. We LOVE how Marie used baking tins as vessels for the desserts. Clever, right? We also…

Thanksgiving is finally here tomorrow. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. Thanksgiving is hands down my favorite holiday (except for the all of the sweets on Halloween, of course). It is a time when my whole family comes together to eat, share stories, reconnect. We talk into the very late hours of the night, while re-warming stuffing and sweet potato pie leftovers. I look forward to it more than any single day…

Disney’s Brave was a huge hit this year. This dessert table by DatNhan of Whisk Paper Scissors Studio was inspired by the movie. DatNhan called upon her friend Jill of The Uncommon Cake to create all of the sweets for the table. DatNhan created a natural and woodsy vibe by using wood platters, fake foliage, burlap and moss. Key elements from the movie like Merida’s love of archery were incorporated into the table by way…

Sweet treats on the dessert table included vanilla and chocolate mud cupcakes, gold dipped chocolate cake pops, macarons, quilted heart cookies, caramels and chocolate covered raspberries. So pretty. Today, Hostess Brands announced that they are closing down their operations. It is sad to see an 82 year old company close their business. Their beloved Twinkie has received its share of criticism, but we think many will agree that the oblong yellow cake filled with sweet cream will be missed. If you don’t have time to run out and get Twinkies at your local grocery and you don’t want to wait to see who…

We love seeing our readers bring literature into their parties. This party was styled by Shannon from Parties & Potty Training for her two boys. Guests built their own fajitas at a fajita bar and played piñata games. Sweet treats on the dessert table included cactus treats, jelly bean cookies, sombrero and…

Do you all remember Eric Carle’s The Very Hungry Caterpillar? I must have read this book to my boys at least 500 times when they were little. For those not familiar, it is about a caterpillar who eats its way through food in all different shapes and colors until it eventually emerges into a brightly colored butterfly. We love how Helen from Kiss My Cakes brought the story to life with this dessert table for…
