This party we’re featuring today is on FIRE. Stephanie from Spaceships and Laserbeams styled this party for her son’s third birthday. Her son loves firetrucks so they created a new Firefighting Fun collection that was unique and brought the concept to life. The birthday cake was a building on fire and was a flavor called “The Elvis” which was a banana cake with peanut butter icing. A square styrofoam cake dummy sat below the actual…

Andressa from Twinkle Twinkle Little Party sent us this Strawberry Picnic dessert table that she styled to showcase her new Twinkle Twinkle Little Party. Strawberry themed parties have been very popular lately, including this one and this one. We love the Pocky cake that she made after seeing this by Sprinkle Bakes. Other sweet treats on the dessert table included cupcakes, marzipan strawberry truffles, strawberry brigadeiros, and strawberry marshmallow wrapped fabric. Guests also had strawberry…

We’re wild about the new watercolor trend so we put together a watercolor board to get you all inspired. You don’t have to have a steady hand to rock a watercolor design. The impressionistic-like technique is great for both novice and experienced artists to play with. Don’t leave out the kids, either. They can roll up their…

Thetis from Little Sooti Events in Australia sent us this horse themed party that she styled for boy and girl twins at a local barn. Existing barn doors were dressed up with burlap bunting for a rustic backdrop. Sweet treats on the dessert table included a horse decorated cake, cake pops, horse shaped cookies, white chocolate mousse, and cupcakes. Great job. Scroll down for the vendor credits.

Our friend Natasha from HK Housewife (and also Minted) sent us photos from her own baby shower. Natasha currently resides in Hong Kong, but traveled back to her hometown of California for her baby shower that was thrown by her mother. Since Natasha doesn’t know whether she’s having a boy or girl, her mother created a party with a neutral color palette. The theme for the dessert table was inspired by an invitation on Minted, …

We’re suckers for Neapolitan desserts and this Neapolitan dessert table shoot by Melissa from Best Friends for Frosting and Tessa from The Frosted Cake Shop had some really fun treats. The three flavored desserts included mini layer cakes, “ice cream” cupcakes, marshmallow pops, rice crispy treats, sandwich cookies, chocolate milk, and a 4-tiered fondant cake. We love how the bright colors of the pink poms contrast the soft colors of the table. Products and display…

We love the idea of gender reveal parties and this one from Lyndsey at LuLu’s is so creative. She wanted to do something original and thought it would be fun to have a cuckoo clock chime and have her kids rush to see a bird deliver a slip of paper telling everyone if they were having a boy or a girl. After doing some research, she realized that would be difficult to do and was…

We know that birds are a big trend right now in fashion but it seems like owls have made their way into the dessert table world. This is the third fantastic owl post that we posted this week. This one was styled by Amber of Party On Designs for a birthday girl who loves owls and bright colors. Amber wanted it to be sweet and rustic and achieved that by adding simple touches like wooden…

This bright and retro party is so cute we had to share it. Maria from Love & Sugar Kisses styled this party for her daughter’s 6th birthday party. Her daughter asked for a Barbie camping party and Maria did not disappoint. She found her inspiration from the Barbie Country Camper from 1971. We love the vibrant colors and the girly nature motif. Sweet treats on the dessert table included cake pops, camper sugar cookies, s’mores…

Anita & Ami from EyeCandy Cville styled this party for a family who was celebrating the adoption of four children. The ladies chose a carnival theme and executed it so well. We loved the three tiered cake covered in tickets to “Admit 4” featuring the children’s names. Other sweet treats on the dessert table included “Apple of my Eye” candy apples, root beer cupcakes, funnel cake cupcakes, monogrammed ferris wheel cookies, cotton candy with “together…

It’s a rainy day in NYC and the weather feels almost fall-like {you know those days when you just want to stay inside with a sweater?} so I thought I’d share some of the fall books that I’m craving to add to my cookbook shelf. Believe it or not, I have over 300 cookbooks in my collection. You’d think I’d just rely on the web for browsing recipes at this point, but I never tire…

We have another owl party up today. Deliene at Belo Papel in Brazil styled this party for a little girl’s 4th birthday and the baby shower for a little boy. Deliene did a pink and blue theme for both the boy and girl. How cute are the crafty owl boxes? We love them! Sweet treats on the dessert table included chocolate covered apples, cakepops, chocolate bars, brigadeiros, and pudding pots. Each guest received milk cartons…
