Great Finds: Cookie Dough Lovers Cookbook {& Contest!}

By: Amy Atlas, in Great Finds, Swag
Have I mentioned to you all how much I love cookie dough?  It’s hard to not like, right?  Which is why I almost fainted when I first saw The Cookie Dough Lover’s Cookbook by Lindsay Landis. This book has so many creative uses of cookie dough in its raw form. Best part?  Lindsay’s raw cookie dough does not include eggs so it isn’t a health concern eating it. Recipes include chocolate chip cookie dough fudge,…

Chevron Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
Chevron pattern was a big trend this year. So much so, that is one of the elements on the cover of my book. This party was sent to us by Helen from Kiss My Cakes in Australia. She styled this party for a little boy’s first birthday. We love the color palette. One of my sweet styling tips is to limit colors on the table to three or four (at most). Helen used four, but…

Pool Party Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
Nothing says summer like ice cream and pool parties. This Pool Party Collection from Bird’s Party makes any pool-side snack feel like a fun four star feast. For her vertical element, Bird created a DIY centerpiece cake stand by stacking cake drums with pool noodles {very clever!} that she cut to size. She then wrapped the noodles in printable scrapbook paper from her collection, and cut foam place mats to fit the diameter of the…

As many of you know, I use Michaels items often and the crafts in Sweet Designs were created with Michaels items. I’m a kid in a candy store when I’m in their store. In fact, one of the best parts of doing an event at Michaels is that everything that I could possibly need…

Whew, it has been a busy couple of weeks for us. Two weeks ago, we ventured out on our national book tour with Williams-Sonoma. The first week had three stops. We started with the Windy City and then we moved on to Philly and King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. I have to say…it has been pretty cool. Not only because I’ve been shopping Williams-Sonoma products since as long as I can remember. Although that does make…
