We received this submission from Amanda at The Kawaii Notebook in Australia. Her son is mad about trucks so she styled this construction truck themed table for his birthday. Amanda used many of the sweet styling tips that I employ. She took styrofoam cake dummies, painted them grey to resemble concrete blocks and used them as risers on the cake table. This is very simple, easy, and cost effective. Also, I always say find items in your home to use as props. Amanda used an old tool box and an inexpensive construction set from Kmart to set up a feature point on the favor table. Candy was brought in to tie all of the colors together and give the table a little pop. “Employees” were asked to “check in for work” on arriving and were handed out hard hats and a coloring book (containing various truck and builder images). They had fun at the coloring station and “diggers” pit. There were also various ride on trucks for the guests to scoot around the property. Sweet treats included “Construction Site” cookies, “At Work” cookie pops and “Lucca & Co.” vanilla cupcakes. As they left, guests were handed favor boxes containing tiny treat tubes with orange and white jelly beans, chocolate bars and a cookie tool set. You know what they say…all play and no work equals one fun party! Scroll down to see the vendor credits.
