We are starting today with a little a party from Jenny at Jenny J Cook Events. She styled this party for her daughter, Bo’s, first birthday. Inspiration came from a felt rainbow wall hanging that Jenny’s mother made for her nursery when she was a baby. After 31 years, the wall hanging was still very special to her and since her daughter’s name easily could lend itself to a “rainBOw-themed” celebration, she and her mother quickly came up with the theme “Celebrating a Year of RainBOws”. We love the use of yarn to add color to this table. It is an easy, inexpensive way to change the look of the table. There were so many personal touches in this party. Jenny’s mother created a photo banner highlighting Bo’s first year. Sweet treats included hand painted rainbow sugar cookies, cake pops, cake bites, mini cupcakes and mini powdered donuts. Party guests enjoyed a bucket of bubble wands labeled “Bubbles for Bo’s Buddies” and take-home water bottle favors accented with a thank-you note and mini yarn pom. Rainbow themed books that Jenny found at a local consignment shop scattered the table along with custom “Happy Birthday Bo” coloring pages and yarn-wrapped paper cups to hold the crayons.
