When I was pregnant with my first son, everyone said “once you have children, time just flies.” When this submission came in, we knew that we could relate. Jennifer from Inspiring Giggles styled this party for her son’s first birthday party. The party was inspired by a vintage airplane that her parents gave to her son as well as the party that I created for my son’s birthday, . We thought Jennifer’s use of astroturf to cover the table was very clever. Fondant cupcake toppers can sometimes prove to be pricey. Using paper toppers like Jennifer did here is a cost effective way to add personality to your sweets. She found them at Mary Had a Little Party and they tied all of the sweet treats into the theme. The party was a family affair as Jennifer’s father helped her created the runway for the young kids table. The older kids became “ground traffic controllers” with a badge so that every guest knew they were there to “ensure the safety” of the younger guests. Sweet treats included cupcakes, cotton candy push pops and sugar cookies. Each guest was given the washable placemat at their setting to take home with them. This party soared.
