With the crisp autumn air rolling in, Courtney Portner gathered her children and their friends to celebrate the beginning of fall. And what a celebration it was! The party theme was feisty owls and punky raccoons. Courtney made the color palette more youthful by adding celadon and light blue to the traditional orange and brown autumnal colors. Simple felt figured largely in this party – -on the capes, those fantastic owl eye masks, the owl and raccoon mason drinking jars, and the “tree” centerpiece — and we think it was a brilliant use of it. Placecards were made to look like mini trees, with felt owls and flower hair clips. The kids wore their owl capes and answered riddles to figure out where their owl pillows were hidden. Brilliant! PS – Come back during lunchtime for the dessert table! It’s a hoot, we promise!
