Amy Atlas Moment: Aloha Summer

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids

We are starting September off with a bang. This “Amy Atlas Moment” from Stefanie at Anna & Blue Paperie made us want to hop on a jet out of JFK and head to the warm, sunny beaches of Hawaii. Stefanie captured the feel of a Hawaiian Luau for her daughter’s birthday party.  The focal point was a backdrop made of a colorful bed sheet from Pottery Barn Teen!  Stefanie made the table skirt using raffia hula skirts and added the garland using leis from Party City.  Gorgeous clay hibiscus from DK Designs dressed up a homemade cake.  If you are not familiar with DK Design’s work, check out the tutorial of her cherry blossoms here.  Other desserts included homemade cupcakes with fondant toppers from Two Sugar Babies, hibiscus and aloha cookies from Cookies Are My Canvas, and candy kabobs. Colorful candles from Shop Sweet Lulu matched the palette perfectly. The party ended with a hula dancer for the guests. This party was definitely paradise!
