Mary Poppins Inspired Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids

Sharnel of My Life My Loves threw a Mary Poppins Tea Party for her daughter Olivia’s 7th birthday (we posted pictures from her 5th birthday party here). The focal point of the party was a fabulous Victorian carousel dessert table Sharnel made with the help of a carpenter.  Isn’t that fabulous?  Atop the table was a pink and blue fondant cake decorated with a carousel horse. We love all of the Mary Poppins elements that were woven into this party—the parasols, teacups, kites, and the classic phrase “supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” wrapped around stripey straws. Activities for the girls included kite making, penguin stuffing and the much loved teacup ride. Sweet treats included french vanilla and chocolate cupcakes, raspberry petit cheesecakes, macarons, fairy floss (cotton candy), toffee apples and carousel horse cookies.
