High Tea Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids

There are so many things to love about this special party, sent to us by Bec and Tammi of RubyJu.  They threw a High Tea to celebrate the 9th birthday of Bec’s daughter Abi.  Our eyes were first drawn to that tall spearmint-colored cake in the center of the table. With its whimsical swirls of frosting and the surprise multi-colored layers inside, this cake is pure fun. We love the many appearances of the doily: these frilly circles were hand-dyed pink and green (the birthday girl’s favorite colors) and strung up as a beautiful scalloped banner; draped over mason jars filled with candy; and used as dainty placemats.  Bec and Tammi tackled two more DIY projects.  They hand-painted mason jars with turquoise glass paint and created “Conversation Starters” using luggage tags for a tea-appropriate party game. Sweet treats included scones with jam and cream, cupcakes, cake pops, brownies, meringues and lollipops. This party is sweet and elegant at the same time—a soiree that would make any little girl feel grown-up.
