Monopoly Baseball Party for My ‘Lil Guy

By: Amy Atlas, in Amy's Latest, Kids
My little guy turned 5 this month and we had a fun celebration for him this weekend.  Contrary to what people might think, I actually like to throw small and intimate parties.  They are usually low-key (with the exception of a fab cake and some cute details).  Because I have been so busy with my book, I pulled this party together very last minute, but it still turned out quite sweet. The Inspiration…the party…

A Little Birdie Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
Madeleine Kojakian from MaddyK Events sent us this beautiful feature of a baby boy’s baptism that she created last year.  This table truly makes me wish Spring was here, especially on this gloomy and cold day in New York City.  The colors are so vibrant and complement each other well.  I love the button cookies and, of course, everyone knows about my obsession with Macarons.  The Macaron tower is an easy way to add height…

A Hoot of a Party Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
Jenny Keller of Jenny Cookies sent us these pictures of her daughter’s Owl-themed 5th birthday party and it looks like all had a hoot at the party.  I don’t see many guest dessert features on a circular table and I really like Jenny’s execution of it, especially with the staggered tree trunk vessels.  I’m also smitten with the owl cakepops, owl cupcakes and owl favor bags.  Very cute, Jenny!…

Japanese Garden Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
Konnichiwa!  We are swooning over this Japanese Garden Guest dessert feature from Peggy and Jenny of The Sweet Parlour for Peggy’s daughter Marissa’s birthday.  We love when we see original submissions in our blog inbox and the Sweet Parlour gals keep stepping up their game.  Peggy and Jenny took their inspiration from the beautiful cherry blossom paper and tied that design into the cupcakes, fan and cherry blossom cookies, chopstick holders, and the runner for…

Alice in Wonderland Guest Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
We receive a lot of Alice in Wonderland themed dessert tables, but we wanted to share this clever and colorful one from Estela Curion of www.caraminholando.com.br in Brazil.  We love the innovative use of playing cards for an actual vessel for desserts.  How neat is that?  Estela used a glue-gun to hold the playing cards together.  You can take this idea and use it for a game night party and it would be fantastic.  The…

Everything’s Coming Up Roses – Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
Amy Nichols from Amy Nichols Special Events sent us these pictures of a birthday party she created for a little girl named Rose.  We love the pink and yellow color palette.  It reminds us of the table we created for Brooke Shield’s daughter, Grier and this table that we created. I love the tissue flower topiaries and the tea cups on the girls’ table.  Rose loves princesses.  Her mom wanted to give her a birthday…

Sunny Days Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
Sunny days are definitely sweeping the clouds away with this featured submission.  This table was sent to us by Effi Tsoukatos from Le Petit Party in Australia which she created for her son Dimitri’s first birthday.  It’s not easy to make commercial characters look cute on a dessert table, but this one was executed perfectly.  The fun, happy colors, the character cupcakes and cake, the table being “brought to the guests by the letter D…

Behind the Scenes at Amy Atlas Events: Vlog #10 – Rice to Riches

By: Amy Atlas, in Behind The Scenes, Videos
It was a very cold day yesterday in the big apple and what better way to warm our souls than some comfort food.  We hopped in a cab and headed down to Soho to a delightful little place called Rice to Riches.  All I can say is YUM!   Every day, they have 21 different flavors of Rice Pudding to choose from with names like Take Me to Tiramisu, Almond Shmalmond, Fluent in French Toast and…

“Feeling Blue” Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
We fell in love with this table the moment we saw it.  It was created by the crew at Principal Planner in Toronto for an event.  This table is so elegant, chic and luxe.  I love the monochromatic look and the quilted diamond tablecloth linen.  I also love the juxtaposition of the dotted cakes.  Beautiful job ladies.  Also…we are pleased to announce the winner of our BAKED Explorations Book give-a-way.  Congratulations to Besse! Sweet {Now ‘n Later!} Backdrop Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
We were sent this cute and clever candy table by Michele Pentecost from Crazy for Design.  Michele created this table for her candy-a-holic sister’s birthday party.  I love how Michele used candy in creative and personal ways throughout the table.  The whimsical design for the backdrop was made from now and laters, one of the candies that they both ate as kids.  Michele also used candy necklaces to hang the tissue paper topiaries. On the…

We are totally enchanted by this sweets table that was created for a very lucky one year old little girl, sent to us by the lovely girls down under Jenny and Peggy from Sweet Parlour.  Their table included a toadstool cake with fairy figurine, toadstool, flower and butterfly cookies, pink glittered cake pops, fairy garden cupcakes that were inspired by Hello Naomi and personalized chocolate bars.  I love the clean, minimalist look of the table.…

We had a glimpse of summer with our Monday post..and today, even though it is cold outside, this table warmed our hearts.  We had to share this table that was submitted to us by Stephanie from Spaceships and Laser Beams. Stephanie created this table to put on their Etsy website to sell their cute DIY Printable Party Supplies.  I am loving the use of yarn like the yarn “craspedia,” the yarn topiary towers, and the…

Surf’s Up! Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
Surf’s Up!  We’re freezing in New York, so we were excited to get a taste of summer when Sarah of Style Me Gorgeous sent us this surfer guest dessert table.  Sarah created this adorable table for her son Jack’s 4th birthday party.  The party was supposed to be held at the beach but, due to inclement weather, Sarah had to move the party indoors.  You would never know there was a last minute change looking…
