We’re designing a nautical inspired party and have rope sailor’s knots, anchors, and lighthouses on our mind. I found these adorable mini buoys at an antique shop and had to snag them. Aren’t they cute? There are so many uses for them. They can be used to decorate a summer dinner tabletop, a dessert buffet, or for decorating a house out east. Don’t these cute props make you want to plan a summer fete? Feel…

This past Friday, Lisa, Rachael and I took a break from the office during a hot, muggy NYC day to meet with Reuben BenJehuda and Daniel Yaghoubi, co-owners of the Popbar. What a better way to cool off on a hot summer day than to visit a place that specializes in handcrafted gelato on a stick? Can…

How lovely is this black-eyed susan set up from Amanda of I am Baker? It makes me want to set up a party outdoors right now. It is such a simple set up, yet it is so charming and beautiful. The gorgeous landscape certainly added to this picture perfect setting. If you are setting up a tablescape outdoors, let the landscape play a role in the design and keep it simple as Amanda did. I…

I’m just back from an amazing weekend with my family in the country. It was a weekend filled with laughter, relaxation, and love. Our boys had non-stop fun with their cousins. I had quality time with my big brother and mom {so needed!} We swam and grilled pretty much the whole weekend. My husband and I never went near the computer. It was pure bliss. This was a big dichotomy to last week. Last week…

Many people get confused about whether I’m a caterer/baker or a stylist/event planner. I’m really a home baker, but a stylist for my event business. When I first started creating my dessert tables as a hobby at my own parties, I was baking, crafting, sourcing the props, and putting it all together the day of. My friends out there reading this will remember it well because I’d ask them to help out. Well, maybe I…

If you were here yesterday, then you saw the jaw-dropping vintage guest dessert table feature from Blair Britt Events. I’m back here today with Blair’s how-to of that beautiful ribbon backdrop.
