Behind the Scenes at the Kelly Ripa and Electrolux Event

By: Amy Atlas, in Amy's Latest, Behind The Scenes
I apologize for the delay in posting this week…it’s been super busy by us, but this will be well worth it… I’m back again with some behind-the-scenes at Amy Atlas Events. Yesterday, Kelly Ripa, Electrolux, and Serendipity built banana splits with lots of ecstatic kids at a fabulous banana splits event for the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. We were honored to do some styling and create the toppings bar for the event. A little “scoop”…

Summer Bicycle Inspired Wedding – Guest Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
Esther of My Bride Story sent over these beautiful pictures of a summer bicycle inspired wedding she recently created for a special couple. The styling of this wedding exudes summer, doesn’t it? I love the yellow and white check linens, the beautiful floral peony and craspedia arrangements, the lattice fence sundae bar, and of course, all of the bike details! For all of you party hostesses, this summery design need not be limited to weddings.…

July 4th Entertaining

By: Amy Atlas, in Kids
The taste of sweet Long Island corn, the sound of my kids squealing with joy while running barefoot in the grass through the sprinkler, the smell of steaks on the grill, the sight of friends and family delving into homemade apple pie…these are just a few of the things that remind me of July 4th with my family. Whether it is a picnic, barbeque, baseball game, or carnival, I think we all love to entertain…

Hawaiian Luau Guest Dessert Table

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
Lindi of Love the Day recently sent over these beautiful pictures of a farewell Luau she created for her friends who are moving to Hawaii. This setting is so refreshing it makes me want to jump into the screen to be at the party. I love the bright color palette, the use of the net as a backdrop, and the bold patterns. I also love the concept of farewell notes for the departing couple. This could work well for a honeymoon send-off party as well. Check out Lindi's Etsy shop here. Great job, Lindi!

Behind the Scenes at Amy Atlas Events – The Design Phase

By: Amy Atlas, in Behind The Scenes
Today we’re working on the design for a special client. I thought I’d share some behind-the-scenes with you on how we start our process. When we start designing, our first step is to speak with the client about general aesthetic. Then we start our design process by studying our pantone books to nail the colors right for the design. We then build an inspiration board for the event and then we start to build the…

Pea in the Pod Guest Dessert Table + Ask Amy

By: Amy Atlas, in Ask Amy, Kids
How cute is this pea-in-the-pod guest dessert table feature from Whitney of Sweet Celebrations by Whitney? Whitney is a baker based in Las Vegas and was inspired to do a dessert table after seeing our work. This table is perfect for a kid-themed event (showers, birthday parties, brises/christenings). All of the sweet pea details on the table are adorable and I love the fresh green color palette. I also love how Whitney used the paper…

Father’s Day Cookies

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Recipes
When it comes to Father’s Day cookies, there are few people who do it better than Eleni’s New York. I love all of the designs above, but since my husband loves to golf, he’d really appreciate the golf cookies. These would be a sweet ending to a Father’s Day Brunch. Check out Eleni’s full collection here. I’ll be back next week with behind-the-scenes, guest features, and lots of other fun stuff! Have a wonderful Father’s…

Chicago Inspired Guest Dessert Table Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
We’ve been getting SO many amazing guest dessert table submissions. Keep them coming and we’ll get them up here. This one comes from Rama of Whimzicalparties in Omaha, Nebraska. Rama created a chic navy and silver Chicago-inspired dessert table for a high school graduate who is moving to Chicago for college. Rama asked for constructive criticism, but I really think she did a great job with this table. Here’s what she did that made it…

Behind the Scenes at Amy Atlas Events with InStyle Magazine

By: Amy Atlas, in Behind The Scenes
This week seems to be the Magazine behind the scenes week, doesn’t it? Yesterday I took you behind-the-scenes with The Knot Magazine and today I’m here with a behind-the-scenes of our InStyle Magazine shoot. A couple of months ago, I had the pleasure of working with the editors at InStyle on a fabulous ice cream story. InStyle Magazine (who doesn’t love it?) + ice cream! Can this be a girl’s dream? Well, the editors sent…

By: Amy Atlas, in Behind The Scenes
I’m here today with another behind-the-scenes at Amy Atlas Events. Today we had a shoot with The Knot for their magazine issue next year. We took a lot of sneak peek photos, but I can only share a few for now since the story isn’t out yet. I’ll share the rest of the photos when the issue hits the stands next year. This was a REALLY fun shoot and I was thrilled to have my…

Guest Dessert Table + Ask Amy

By: Amy Atlas, in Ask Amy, Featured Submissions
I’m loving today’s guest dessert table feature from Glory of Glorious Treats. Glory sent me these pictures early this week and I’ve been dying to share them with you. Glory created a strawberry theme party for her niece’s 9th birthday party. I love the fondant strawberries, the custom cups, and the fresh strawberry favors with strawberry ribbon. Wonderful execution, Glory! Glory was also kind to share her strawberry cream cheese frosting recipe here. Speaking of…

The Great Fondant Debate

By: Amy Atlas, in Ask Amy
{All cupcakes above are from Amy Atlas’s dessert bars.} Everytime I meet with a client, I hold my breath because I know the discussion is coming. Usually it’s a battle rather than a discussion. The debate of buttercream vs. fondant. Every client wants buttercream because they have all had a bad experience with the tasteless and often rubbery texture of fondant. We’ve all had that experience, right? Having styled both buttercream and fondant cakes and…

Guest Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
We’re working on a few fun magazine shoots this week so I’ll be back with behind-the-scenes on that next week. In the meantime, I’ve been getting so many guest feature submissions and many are stunning. I know you all want a mix of our behind-the-scenes and guest submissions so I’ll try to give you a nice balance. I may have to start posting 2x a day to get all the material out there on the…

Feminine Dessert Table for a Sweet Baby Girl

By: Amy Atlas, in Amy's Latest
I’m back with pictures of our dessert table for a darling mom-to-be’s shower. Yesterday, I posted some behind-the-scenes pics of us getting ready for the event. William Brinson stopped by to capture some shots of this lovely party. Want some deets about the event? It was for a first-time mom, who is having….you guessed it a girl! The party took place at Park Avenue Summer, which is located on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. If you…

Behind the Scenes at Amy Atlas Events

By: Amy Atlas, in Behind The Scenes
I’m back today with some behind-the-scenes pics of us getting ready for an event. If you were here on Friday, then you saw us propping around Manhattan for some last minute items we needed for our party. We picked up some great cupcake wrappers, ribbon, and paper for the event. Tomorrow I’ll be back with pictures of the finished product {from the very talented William Brinson}. If you want to see a sneak peek of…

Woodland Guest Dessert Table Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Kids
Katie Henry of Katie Grace Designs sent over some pictures of a dessert bar she created for a boy’s woodland inspired birthday party. After discovering our dessert bars, Katie has created dessert bars at all of her events. I am totally loving the s’mores kabobs, tree cupcakes, and the trail mix containers. Maybe we can get Katie on here to do a how to for the s’mores kabobs? I also love the use of the…
