Romantic Ruffles Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
We love ruffles. Who doesn’t?  Last year we explored ruffles in our “Turn Your Closet Into Confections” series and wish we had this cake! This romantic feature was sent to us by Alex from Avie & Lulu. She created this table for the Christening of her friend’s daughter. This romantic ruffled themed dessert table included ruffled heart cake and cookies by Anita of Cake Envy, a heart candy cake, scalloped vessels, and doily-wrapped chocolate bars.…

Love Story Guest Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
This Amy Atlas Moment was small on desserts but big on inspiration so we knew we had to share it with you. It was sent to us by one of our readers, Lindsay. This vintage love themed party was created for a Jack & Jill wedding shower for one of Lindsay’s best friends. Since the bride is a teacher and the groom’s favorite  movie is Pride and Prejudice, Lindsay tied in vintage books and love…

Popcorn Party Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
A few years back, we created an amazing sweet and salty popcorn bar for a Bat Mitzvah. There is something about the nostalgic popcorn treat that can transport guests back to childhood, right? It is the reason why we love this “he popped the question” party from Glenda of Dressy Designs. Glenda created this for a wedding, but it could work great for an engagement party, too.  We love the clever language on the signage,…

Around The Atlas: Portugal

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
This “Around the Atlas” came to us from Francisca, a cake designer in Portugal.  She created this beautiful display to showcase her products to clients. The gold accents with the Tiffany blue and white color palette gave this table a classic and elegant vibe. Sweet treats included cupcakes, meringue, cake pops and sugar cookies. No “flower” was left unturned. Francisca even added them to the little sugar cubes. We loved the cameos that graced mini…

Gold & Cream Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
This fantastic baby shower came to us from Melissa and Kellie over at Icing Designs. They were asked by their client to use a gold and cream color scheme for a party and what they came up with is a gem! Oversize gold paper flowers, a glittered garland, lace overlay, and scalloped vessels elevated the table to golden status. Golden desserts included a ruffled cake, mini rice krispie treats drizzled in gold sparkles, chocolate brownie…

Rustic Silhouette Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
This nautical guest dessert table came to us Monika from Stylish Party Bazaar in the UK. She created this table for a wedding show. Instead of the typical navy, red and white color palette, Monika chose a black and ivory palette and paired it with a silhouette design. We love the rope embellished crates and the gable boxes. Sweet treats included cupcakes, a silhouette cake and cake pops. Beautiful. To see some more nautical inspiration,…

We are sending you off today with this beautiful styled shoot from Morgan over at Ashley Weddings & Events. We love the rustic undertones and soft coral, gold and aqua color palette. Antique vessels were used to display the sweet treats for a romantic vibe. The dining table was layered with lace linens that Ashley found in her mother’s closet. Sweet treats on the dessert table included gourmet marshmallows, black salted macarons and pretty petit…

Fabulously Fifty Guest Dessert Feature

This fantastic party was sent to us by Belinda from Styled By Belle. Belinda styled this party for a 50th birthday party. There are so many great elements of this party so we’re splitting up her party into three posts.  The desserts, the cheese table {amazing} and the coffee/tea table. This first table features ever so sweet desserts styled using pink and gold to match the vintage theme. Sweet treats included a pink ruffled cake,…

Vintage Candy Table Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Kids
Glenda from Dressy Designs sent us this pretty vintage candy buffet that she created for a wedding. Glenda shopped at vintage stores to find props for her client. The table was made by Glenda’s husband out of a door and four legs that they found in the vintage stores. They painted the door blue and then distressed and glazed it. The DIY “SWEETS” burlap sign added an old fashioned touch. We love the how the…

Whimsical Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
It is rainy in NYC today and this dreamy shoot from Aleishia from Pretty My Love is cheering us up. To create a whimsical feel, Aleishia used a vintage desk for the sweets table and a Pepsi crate for the favors. She filled apothecary jars with candy to give the table a light and airy feel. We love the pretty pink lemonade in the apothecary jar dispenser.  Sweet treats included cake in a jar, coconut…

Sweet Love Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
We have another pretty dessert feature on the blog today.  This one is from Dewi of Sweet Bloom Cakes, who created an elegant dessert table for her friend’s wedding. The beachfront venue, The Boat House in Sydney Palm Beach, was the perfect setting for the event. Dewi chose a romantic palette of pinks, greens and neutrals, and accessorized the dessert table with pink peonies, milk glass stands and burlap. It worked so well with the…

Kona Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
This beautiful table was sent to us by Beth Helmstetter.  She created this sweets table for calligrapher Laura Hooper’s wedding. The venue was the Big Island and Beth truly captured the warmth of Hawaii. The table had an elegant, vintage feel with rustic undertones. Maybe it’s because it has been so cold in NYC, but the coral, florals and candles make this table dreamy to us. Sweet treats included tropical macarons, pineapple guava cake…

Elegant Rustic Guest Dessert Feature

This table by Saneth at Illuminations Designs is a chocolate lover’s dream. She and some local Colorado vendors joined together to create this rustic chocolate dessert table. The table was simple and approachable and since  the overall design was kept neutral, they incorporated surfaces like lace, burlap, cork, and antique brass. Sweet treats included chocolate truffles, meringue and chocolate martinis. Yum! Scroll down to see the vendor credits. If you like this post, click here…

Shabby Chic Cookie Buffet Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
This beautiful party was sent to us by Sarah from Princess Allure Accessories. She created a cookie buffet for a bride who wanted a romantic themed table with shabby chic elements. The bride was Chinese and the Groom was French so Sarah incorporated both of their cultures. Light pink macarons with white chocolate ganache filling with a “Je Taime” sign was a nod towards the groom’s heritage. Fortune cookies and round cookies stenciled with the…

Sweet Love Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
We received this royal wedding submission from Lori at The Cakestress.  Not only did Lori style this table, she made all of the desserts. The five tier banana split cake was inspired by the Bride’s Amsale “Dahlia” Gown. One of the things that we loved about this table was how Lori found everyday items and transformed them into staging pieces. She purchased all of the frames from Ikea {and how great is the creative use…

Tiffany Inspired Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
We love the classic Tiffany blue.  There is something about getting a gift in that little blue box that can make any girl smile. My husband bought me a gold heart necklace before we were married and it never seems to go out of style. This Tiffany inspired table was created by Amy from With Style and Grace in Australia.  She created this table for a wedding expo for one of her brides. The rich…

Pink and Orange Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
Amy of One Divine Party sent over this fun bright pink and orange party. Amy created this party for one of her closest friend’s wedding and wanted it to be personal.  The combination of the bright colors and textures balanced by the burlap gave this table a mixed media vibe.  Since the bride loves cotton candy, Amy created cotton candy topiaries. Warning – we’ve made these before and you do have to be very careful…

Black & White Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
What’s black & white and fuchsia and teal all over?  This table that was sent to us by Lillian from Lily Chic Events. With the help of Leoni from Just Call Me Martha, they created this table that was inspired by the summer wedding season in Australia. The black and white makes the event formal, but the pops of color give it a youthful vibe.  That spectacular two tiered cake was definitely the…

Vintage Lace Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
This table was sent to us by Marieke of Sweet Appetite.  Marieke created this table to showcase her beautiful desserts. Marieke was inspired by vintage lace she found at a flea market. Everything about this table is feminine and pretty. From the bell dome for the macarons, to the lace-patterned cake, Marieke did a great job at keeping it simple yet sophisticated.  Very well done. Photography by Lesley Stefanski…
