Travel Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
We’re loving this travel themed party created by Styled By Belle for a first birthday party. The invitees were excited for an adventure after they received a canvas map rolled up in a scroll for the invitation. Upon arrival, guests were greeted with a fun hot air balloon photo booth, where ‘lil travelers could sit in the basket of a hot air balloon. After lunch, guests headed over to a travel themed dessert table. We…

Our heads are in the clouds today with this sweet Hot Air Balloon themed dessert table that was styled by Belinda from Styled By Belle for a little boy’s christening. Belinda chose a soft blue & white color palette with pops of red to bring in the red hot air balloon. Sweet treats on the dessert table included cloud cupcakes, macarons, cloud cookie pops, homemade cloud marshmallows, and a beautiful two tiered cloud cake. Great…

We hope you guys had a good weekend. We are headed on a Safari today. This party was styled by Cristina from Via Blossom for her son’s birthay. The decor consisted of natural props and zebra/animal prints. To give the table a little pizzazz, Christina painted plastic jungle animals with gold spraypaint. Sweet treats on the dessert table included chocolate chip cheesecake bites, double chocolate cupcakes, coconut balls and a variety of chocolate truffles. Scroll…

Let’s Fly Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
This simple yet stylish dessert table was styled by Jayme from Jayme Marie Designs for her son’s vintage airplane birthday party. We love the chic black table against the red and aqua palette. Notice how the white on the vertical runner, cake, wall and beverages give the design a crisp look. It’s a major player in the design. We love the use of stripes as well. Sweet treats on the dessert table included chocolate and…

Train Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
We received this submission from Tiffany at Baked Perfections.  Tiffany created her first dessert table for her son’s birthday train themed party. The primary colors of the invitation and Tiffany’s printables inspired the palette of the table. Sweet treats included sugar cookies, cookie dough truffle pops and popcorn cones. The cookies are fantastic. We think she did a great job!  Scroll down to see the vendor credits. To see some more parties inspired by trains,…

Fly Away With Me Valentine Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
How great is this submission that we received from Gwynn at Gwynn Wasson Designs? We have received some fun submissions from Gwynn in the past like this one and this one. Gwynn created this “Come Fly Away With Me” party for her sons and their friends. We love the airplane cutlery holders {how creative!}.  The party was a mix of girls and boys so Gwynn incorporated pink hearts, fluffy clouds and vintage bi-planes. Hovering just…

Last Train to Aidansville Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
All aboard the Aidan Express.  This featured submission came to us from Belinda from Styled By Belle, who created this party for her son’s 3rd birthday. Her son loves Thomas the Tank, so she knew she wanted to subtly incorporate the theme into the party without making it too commercial. To start, guests were greeted by the “Sir Topham Hatt”. Cargo crates were used as vessels and the confections were transported in a train built…

Oh, How Time Flies Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
When I was pregnant with my first son, everyone said “once you have children, time just flies.” When this submission came in, we knew that we could relate. Jennifer from Inspiring Giggles styled this party for her son’s first birthday party. The party was inspired by a vintage airplane that her parents gave to her son as well as the party that I created for my son’s birthday, . We thought Jennifer’s use of astroturf…

Vintage Plane Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
The ladies at Spaceships & Laserbeams are taking us on a journey today on Anderson Airlines! Stephanie created this table for a little boy’s birthday party. Their printable collection is perfect for little boys who love airplanes and, for adults, could easily be used for a bon voyage party. How fantastic is that cupcake wrapper that the vanilla bean cupake sits in? There are some great, cost effective DIY elements in this table. For the…

What A Journey Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
This party was created by Elissa of One Stone Events.  She created this party for a little girl’s 1st birthday. Elissa wanted to use the theme “What a Journey” because she felt the first year is a journey for both parents and child. Elissa included maps and globes for props. The aqua and yellow color palette is very airy and can almost transport you to a tropical island. Sweet treats included mini fruit pizzas,…

Pan Am Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
Be prepared for a party that is soaring new heights of creativity!  This very clever Pan Am feature is timely, as ABC is about to premiere their new show Pan Am. Lynlee of Lynlee’s Petite Cakes created this table for her mother, who worked for Pan Am. Lynlee created a Flight Status Happy Birthday board for the backdrop, and connected the flight theme with props like Pan Am mini luggage bags, airplanes and globes.  …

Hot Air Balloon Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
Remember that vintage milk & cookies table we went nuts over?  Kate and Yolanda, the ladies from Kiss Me Kate, went above and beyond with a third party:  a vintage hot air balloon party. This theme is perfect for a girl or boys party.  Once again, we are wowed by their attention to detail. The sky blue panel painted with wispy white clouds is a beautiful backdrop for this table. Balloons wrapped in netting and…

Behind the Scenes: Travel + Balance

By: Amy Atlas, in Ask Amy, Behind The Scenes
Lisa and I at the Guthrie in Minneapolis with the Mississippi River in the background…. We were in Minnesota this past week for some meetings.  It was nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of New York City, even if it was just for two days.  Seeing lush greenery and smelling crisp clean air definitely helps me clear my mind.  When Lisa and I weren’t in meetings, we jam packed some activities to…

Airplane Guest Dessert Feature

Wow, there have been some great features up today, right?  This kid-friendly dessert feature from Jordan of Polka Dot Prints in Australia is another adorable take on a fly away party.  Jordan said she was inspired by my own son’s birthday party here.  I adore the white chocolate cloud “fly” lollipop sticks, the airplane cake {notice – simple waffle cones and m & m’s are used to decorate the cake}, the milk cartons, and the…
