Love You More Than Chocolate Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
This party was styled by Anita and Ami from EyeCandyCville for a couple who love chocolate. We love how Anita made poms from natural coffee filters. Twigs, mercury glass, crates and wood shutters created a rustic setting. Sweet treats on the dessert table included “grown up” milk and cookies (with shots of Kahlua and milk), pumpkin cheesecake pops, blueberry creme tartlettes, magic cookie bars, red velvet cupcakes, chocolate hazelnut mousse and wedding cake.  Guests were…

Burlap And Bluegrass Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
We are all about a little bluegrass music and this party from Lisa at Step Brightly Creative Group got us right in the mood. Lisa styled this party for a little boy’s birthday. Since the grandfather was a professional banjo player and the birthday boy loves music, it seemed fitting to have a music-themed party. Flea market finds, a vintage quilt, and a petite size banjo were just some of the props that Lisa used.…

Sweet S’mores Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
We are already starting to feel the chill in the air in NYC. It was a wet, rainy and cold day today. This feature kind of warmed us up a bit.  This was from a Pop Up store for National S’mores Day that was created by Nicole from Truffle Truffle.  The theme for this table was “Spread S’more Love.” All of the sweet treats were created by Nicole and her team.  For the color  palette,…

S’mores Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
Our third post of the day is a submission we received from Jo-Ann Yewchuk from Fine Frostings. Who doesn’t love s’mores and the memories they evoke when tasting that gooey, crunchy sandwich?  Jo-Ann created this s’mores table in honor of Canada Day and today seemed like the perfect day to feature it.  Sweet treats included s’mores cupcakes, s’mores shooters, rice krispie treats and s’mores truffles. An array of campfire fixins was set up to make…

S’mores Day Roundup

By: Amy Atlas, in Recipes
Photo credits above:  1)  Frozen S’mores 2)  S’more Cakelettes 3)  S’mores Tarts S’mores may be the one kid’s treat adults feel no shame in eating. Whether you spent your childhood summers in front of a campfire or in the middle of the city, that gooey chocolate sandwich is nostalgia in dessert form. However you toast your marshmallow (from golden brown to burnt black), half the fun is in building your s’more. Of course, we love…

By: Amy Atlas, in Great Finds
Today is National S’mores Day.  We have lots of cute S’mores ideas for you today.  We are going to kick off our homage to the delicious treat with a Sweet Talk with Rosie Daykin, the owner and creator of Butter Baked Goods.  We have used Rosie’s marshmallows for many of our events and they are always a big hit!  We recently tasted Rosie’s s’mores and they were too good not to share on S’mores Day.  …

“Glamping” it Up Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
We recently featured this Vintage Red Wagon party from Elisa Stone of One Stone Events so we were excited when we saw here name pop up in our inbox. Elisa created this ‘Glamping’ (glamorous camping) party for a very active, very girly 13 year old. The girl hadn’t had a party in four years so Elisa wanted to do it right. The color palette was purple, turquoise and lime.  She spray painted the lanterns and…

S’mores Magazine Shoot

S’mores Bar by Amy Atlas.  Photograph by Antonis Achilleos.  Scroll below for behind the scenes pics…. Hey folks, We’re so busy prepping for our book shoot {we start shooting in a couple of weeks!}, but I thought I’d leave you with a little inspiration that we created recently for a magazine shoot.  Even though it is freezing in New York, I think our s’mores bar above would make anyone excited for a camping trip.  …

More S’mores

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
I know, I know…I already posted about s’mores yesterday, right? But just because it is no longer National S’mores Day doesn’t mean we can’t still enjoy this fave treat. I received so many emails about s’mores ideas after yesterday’s post that I thought the s’mores party should continue {at least on this blog!}  Lisa of Moore Minutes sent over a s’mores bar and I had to share. See s’more {I had to} ideas at the…

National S’mores Day

By: Amy Atlas, in Recipes, Sweet Styling Tricks
I’ve been nibbling on graham crackers all morning. So it was no surprise to me when I saw a tweet from my blogging friend Thoughtfully Simple that today is National S’mores Day! Yes, I had it on my calendar and yes we just did a s’mores dessert bar for a client {sorry I can’t share that one}, but somehow I forgot it this morning. I guess it was a subliminal message when I felt myself…
