We love this take on a Wizard of Oz dessert table from Kathryn at All Things Cake and Small in Australia. Kathryn’s daughter has watched the Wizard of Oz several times so it was a fitting theme for her birthday. Apothecary jars filled with fruit set the tone for the rainbow color palette that Kathryn chose. Other sweet treats on the dessert table included emerald green jelly pots, Glenda and the wicked witch cake pop…

Colorful Chevron Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
Flavia from fete-a-fete created this colorful chevron patterned dessert table for her son’s first birthday. The theme was “Time Flies” playing with the numbers 1 through 12 representing her son’s age in months. Clocks were made a focal point on the wall and the chevron pattern created a happy atmosphere. We love the DIY crafts on the table from the balloon wreath to the food card holders. Our readers often ask about styling food and…

Rainbow Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
Rainbow parties are still a big trend. This one was styled by Nicole at One Magic Day in Australia for her daughter’s 3rd birthday. Her daughter is fascinated with rainbows and asks Nicole at bedtime each night if she could “sing a rainbow”. When trying to come up with a theme, an “I can sing a rainbow” theme popped into her head and the rest is musical history. White vessels and the grey polka dot…

This UP party was sent to us by Shayna from St. Louis Wedding Consultants, who created this party for her daughter’s second birthday. We heart this table. It is so happy and colorful. Azar from Principal Planner Weddings & Events styled this table for an album release party. Her good friend, Louisa, is a cake designer and decided to make all of the desserts for her sister’s upcoming album release party and asked Azar if she would style it. They wanted to create something that was bubbly and fun just like Louisa’s sister. That cake is so simple…

Simone styled the party for her daughter’s 4th birthday. The party was planned for outdoors and true to the theme, the skies opened and it started to pour. Simone had to scramble to get everything inside and managed…

This sweet little party was sent to us by Virginie at That Cute Little Cake. Virginie fell in love with the idea of the rainbow cake. She decided on a rainbow theme for her daughter’s second birthday so she could make her that cake.  She went with a softer palette switching out the red for pink. With the exception of the rainbow cupcake topper which was a free printable from Tom Kat Studio, Virginie designed…

Rainbow Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
We’ve seen a lot of rainbows this year in posts (rainbow cakes, rainbow sorbet, you name it), but this rainbow guest dessert feature by Janelle and Samone of Cake Ink really caught our eye.  It has a colorful, happy feel that just makes me smile.  I love how they mixed in some vintage vessels like the biscuit box and wooden vessels with the bright colored rainbow design.  The lollipop floral arrangements, umbrella cookies, cloud favor…
