Party Like a Rockstar Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
We are going to “Party Like a Rock Star’ with this fun party that was styled by Justine of Sensationally Sweet Events for her son’s birthday. The dark colors and graffiti gave the table an edgy vibe while still maintaining very youthful. Notice how that graffiti backdrop kicks up the dessert table to the next level. Sweet treats on the dessert table included a cake with a white painted microphone, equalizer cookies, layered jelly and…

Classic Rock Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
We are huge music lovers so this classic rock party styled by Ivana and Michal from Petit Gateau is right up our alley. They created this for a group of ladies who were celebrating the big 5-0. The party theme was focused on rock ‘n roll bands from the 60’s, which is when the birthday ladies were born. Record artwork from Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, The Doors and The Beatles were used for a backdrop…

Baby You’re A Firework Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
We were feeling very empowered after seeing this party! Whitney from Whitney Hartmann Photography styled it for a girl’s 8th birthday. The theme was “Baby, You’re a Firework” {the song by Katy Perry} and was a girl power themed party. Sweet treats on the dessert table included meringue, firework sugar cookies that matched the invite, cupcakes and macarons. The girls had a dress up photo shoot and a dance party to their favorite Katy Perry…

Green with SXSW Envy!

By: Amy Atlas, in Amy's Latest, Great Finds
I bet most of you didn’t know that prior to becoming our “Commander in Sweets”, Lisa ran an entertainment law firm that specialized in music.  Every year, Lisa planned the annual SXSW party that her firm hosted and would spend a couple of days in Austin scoping out bands and enjoying BBQ. Whenever she talks about it, her face lights up brighter than a sunny day in Texas. We’re both music lovers..actually everyone on…

Little Rock Star Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
We have SXSW in Austin on our minds..more about that later.  We love this 80’s rockstar party styled by Helen from Kiss My Cakes in Australia for her son’s birthday party. His only request was for microphone cake pops and we are so happy he made that request. How great are those?  Such a fun idea. The birthday cake was an amazing set of drums. Other “intermission munchies” on the dessert table included vanilla cupcakes,…

Never Too Small To Rock Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
The Grammys are on Sunday and we love this “Never Too Small to Rock” dessert table that was styled by Teresa from Lume Brando in Portugal for a little boy’s first birthday. The little boy’s mom wanted something not too ‘babyish’ and together they came up with a rock music theme. Vinyl records found at her parents house were used as props throughout the table. Sweet treats on the dessert table included lemon and vanilla…

This “Rockstar” party was hosted by Kathryn from Team Whitaker. Her son was born prematurely and Kathryn threw this party for his 3rd birthday and invited 20 of his friends from the NICU. The color palette was aqua, lime green, orange and black. Kathryn hired a local Austin musician to play music for the kids and at the end of the concert, the kids had a chance to bang on his drum. Sweet treats on…

Fab Four Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
This party made us want to TWIST & SHOUT!!! Flavia from Alecrim Atelie de Festa in Rio de Janiero created this party for her son’s birthday party. Her son is a huge fan of  The Beatles and knows everything about them from their names to their guitars and lyrics. Giving a nod to their nationality, Flavia used the British flag as inspiration for the color palette. John, Paul, George, and Ringo appeared on desserts and…
