Great Finds: Dana’s Bakery

By: Amy Atlas, in Great Finds
Two weeks ago, I was on the plane coming home to NYC from Atlanta when I sat next to this photographer. Our flight had been cancelled the night before and we were chatting about our plane/scheduling hassles. Before long, I learned he was a talented fashion and street-style photographer {check out above} and he found out about my penchant for sweets. He introduced me to his friend Dana Loia, who recently created Dana’s Bakery.  The…

Ice Cream Parlour Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
Ice cream parties are not just for kids! Kellie from Sweet Art Cakes created this table for her own birthday. Beautiful Birthday Bash Guest Feature

This gorgeous table was sent to us by Renee from About A Bug.  For her own 30th birthday, Renee chose a feminine pink and turquoise color palette. Renee hung fairy lights throughout the roof installed by Velvet Lily, and created tassel garlands to decorate the furniture. Oversized balloons, romantic floral arrangements and gilded picture frames gave this table some extra glamour. We love the confetti garland on the dessert tags and candy bars. That design…

Spa Day Party {Part II}

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
This morning, we showed you the stunning photos of the dessert table from the spa party that Emma Smith created for her daughter’s 9th birthday. We are back with “spa” photos. Emma made the robes, masks and slippers by hand. The ladies were pampered with manicures and pedicures. Knowing it is always a little difficult for 9 year olds to sit still, Emma also had a singing and dance competition for the girls. The goody…

Spa Day Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
We are so in love with this party. Maybe it is the warm coral and sea green palette or the idea of having a spa day. Either way, we thought it was executed perfectly. This submission was sent to us by Emma from Emma Smith Stationery. Emma’s daughter told her she wanted a “Tropical Day Spa” for her birthday. After several trips to the fabric and craft stores, Emma was ready to make (yes,

Around the “Atlas”: Guatemala

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
It is always amazing to me to see how far our inspiration reaches. It is exciting and humbling at the same time. This feature came all the way from Guatemala. We love the fact that the dessert table trend has made its way over to Central America, and that we get to share these dessert tables from Around the Atlas.  Hans from Wunderkeks (German for wonder cookies) created this table for the launch of…
