Wizard of Oz Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
How original is this Wizard of Oz Party by Kate Landers Events?  Kate worked with Kim from Tomkat Studio to create a whimsical party for her daughter that would transport any kid to the Land of Oz.  I love the periwinkle and white gingham pattern printables by Kim, the blue and white checked oreos, the fondant toto and rainbow cupcake toppers, and those yellow brick road and courage cookies.  And how adorable all of the…

Quilted Cake and Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
Have you all ever seen Erica O’Brien’s cakes?  If you haven’t, you should check them out now!  They are beautiful.  I’m loving this quilted cake that she made for a recent birthday party for Charla Brummel’s daughter Brooklyn.  I love the muted take on the circus theme with aqua and gold instead of the traditional primary colors like royal blue and bright yellow for a circus theme.  The real quilt under the cake platter is…

Dr. Seuss Inspired Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
Kelly of Paper Stories sent in this whimsical, kid-appropriate Dr. Seuss-inspired dessert bar so I could share it with you. I recently wrote on Stroller Traffic about creating a book-themed party for kids and this is a perfect example of a book-themed party.  In our home, we read Dr. Seuss books all the time and “Green Eggs and Ham” is a staple in the bedtime routine so I really enjoyed seeing this table.  Kelly labeled…

Bubblegum and Soda Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
We’re like little kids in a candy store looking at this fun bubblegum and soda sweets spread by Scissors Paper Cake. Anything Naomi puts her hands looks so precious.  I love how the bubblegum is used for topping off the bubblegum cupcakes and I adore the oversized tags for the bubblegum jars.  I’m also smitten with those striped containers.  The cherry cola cupcakes and the soda sign are also sweet.  Yet again, we see another…

County Fair Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
Michele of Cakewalk Baking sent over these exclusive photos of a rustic, homespun County Fair guest dessert table for her son Graham’s 5th birthday party.  This is another example of excellent styling.  The desserts and props are very well balanced on the table.  I love the vintage ferris wheel for the centerpiece, the handmade prize ribbons, and the placement of the flag bunting {made out of a vintage tablecloth}.  That vintage fabric was used on…

Apple-Inspired Guest Dessert Feature Part I

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
You are all in for a treat today.  The Caketress sent over these exclusive photos of an apple-inspired party she created for a 1 year old named Emerson.  Rebecca Wood, who is Emerson’s mom, took these incredible photos.  I’m breaking up the photos into 2 posts since there are so many gorgeous photos.  This post is for the dessert table and this afternoon I’ll post the party decor, which is equally as precious.  The dessert…

Halloween Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
Suzanna of Mon Tresor sent in this haunted treats table that was inspired by my turquoise and orange collection for Cocodot.  Suzanna used a turquoise and orange palette and mixed it with black and white to make it a little more spooky.  Suzanna elevated a traditional Halloween table to chic by using a beautiful black and white backdrop.  I’m loving the witch’s brew, the pretty coconut cake, the lace around the beverages, and the spider…

Dessert Table on a Truck – Guest Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
There is the Treats Truck and then there is the dessert table truck!  Heather of the WhipperBerry Blog in Las Vegas sent in this shoot that they created with a vintage red truck.  I have to say, I’m personally not a fan of all of the outdoor shoots that I see all the time, mainly because I find them impractical for people that are really planning parties. However, the styling on this innovative truck-treats table

Sweet As Honey Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
Hello Naomi and Scissors Paper Cake created another kid-friendly and drool-worthy dessert bar and you’ll once again be in awe of all of the details.  The honey tables have been catching a lot of buzz around here at the AAE office.  So what is not to love here?  Naomi’s cakes and cupcakes are absolute perfection.  Look at that bee hive cake!  I also love the milk jars with layered honey, the asymmetrical placement of the…

Dreamy Floral Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
I’m in absolute love with this dreamy guest dessert feature from Bec and Tammy of Ruby Ju from Australia.  I love how they framed the  sweets spread with the beautiful draped linen.  It sets the table apart from the rest of a party and gives the table it’s own significant role.  And how gorgeous is that buttercream cake?  I’m currently on a cleanse and that picture is enough for me to break it!  I also…

Spiderman Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
We’re up to our second guest dessert feature of the day.  This one is from Cecilia and Jeannette of The Treat Table in Florida {we’ll get a link up to their site soon}.  It is not easy to incorporate commercial characters into a polished sweets spread, but I think these ladies did a fantastic job.  There are a lot of great components to this table.  The spiderman cake is really fabulous and these ladies made…

Chic Coastal Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
We’re kicking off a guest dessert feature marathon and first on the list today is Sharnel of Sharnel Dollar Designs from Brisbane, Australia.  Sharnel was one of the first guest features that I ever posted over a year ago.  You can see past guest features here and here.  Sharnel always rocks her designs, but do you want to know why I was drawn to this table in particular?  I used that very same Ralph Lauren…

“Fuel Up” Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
There are lots of exclusive guest dessert features that I’ve been lining up to show you, and the one above from Stephanie of Spaceships & Laser Beams is one of my favorites.  Seriously, can this set up get any cuter?  Stephanie runs an Etsy shop with DIY printable party supplies just for boys!  Can I say FINALLY any louder!  As a mom of 2 boys, I really appreciate this.  Spaceship & Laser Beams recognized that…

Camp Out Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids, Recipes
It’s starting to get cooler in NYC and it is the last opportunity here to go on a camp out before it gets too cold.  Jeannie of Cakes by Jeannie sent over these pictures of her family reunion camp out held in Washington State Park, Missouri and I’m just loving all of the details.  Jeannie and her parents, six siblings {and now their 15 kids!} spent a weekend at their cabin enjoying nature and plenty…

Guest Dessert Feature – Part I

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
Jeanna Hayes, a photographer from Las Vegas, sent in these drool-worthy images of a photography workshop that she hosted for other photographers to hone their skills.  Jeanna worked with Suzanne of SHE PAPERIE + design boutique to create a stylized “Sugar And Spice And Everything Nice” shoot so the photographers would have mounds of eye candy to shoot. I think any photographer would be a kid in a candy store if they had a chance…

Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
Linda of Holy Sweet from Sweden sent over these beautiful pictures of a dessert bar she created at a wedding exhibition called “Sommaralongen” at the Ulriksdals Slottsträdgårdar.  Linda was a guest feature on Sweet Designs once before here.  Linda is one of the first in Sweden to start a dessert table business and was inspired by our work to do so.  I love the clean and tailored aesthetic of this dessert table and the bold…

More S’mores

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
I know, I know…I already posted about s’mores yesterday, right? But just because it is no longer National S’mores Day doesn’t mean we can’t still enjoy this fave treat. I received so many emails about s’mores ideas after yesterday’s post that I thought the s’mores party should continue {at least on this blog!}  Lisa of Moore Minutes sent over a s’mores bar and I had to share. See s’more {I had to} ideas at the…

Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
We’ve been super busy at Amy Atlas Events. Our week started with a special project for InStyle and now we’re packing up for a party in California. In the meantime, I thought I would share some gorgeous images that Beth Helmstetter sent over to me. Beth styled a shoot with Steve Steinhardt that will completely charm you. This little dessert soiree would be perfect for a spring party in your very own backyard or garden.…
