Elegant Sunflower Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
We hope everyone had a fantastic three day weekend. The “unofficial” end to summer has arrived. We don’t know about you all, but we are going to try to enjoy every bit of the warm sunny days that we have left in New York City. This party was sent to us by Eva from Eva Derrick Photography in Canada and we simply love it. Distinct Occasions and Candy by Katie styled this table with an…

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
Happy National Sugar Cookie Day!  We have had some really creative sugar cookie inspiration like this one and this one. This party that was styled by Jacki from Blissfully Sweet in Australia is providing the inspiration today. Jacki styled this party for a client’s son. For the backdrop, Jacki chose white washed paneled wood that she created herself. Sweet treats on the dessert table included fruit sugar cookies, cupcakes topped with fondant caterpillar and food…

Very Hungry Caterpillar Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
Do you all remember Eric Carle’s The Very Hungry Caterpillar?  I must have read this book to my boys at least 500 times when they were little. For those not familiar, it is about a caterpillar who eats its way through food in all different shapes and colors until it eventually emerges into a brightly colored butterfly. We love how Helen from Kiss My Cakes brought the story to life with this dessert table for…

Lunar Harvest Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
The sisterly team Celebrations Hong Kong sent us this creative dessert table which was styled for the Mid Autumn Festival, a lunar harvest festival celebrated on September 30th in Hong Kong. How fantastic is the lantern cake?  We love the colors and how the orange pops against the purple. “Moon Cakes” are the specialties of this festival.  Other sweet treats on the dessert table included moon cookies, lantern cake pops, moon cupcakes, and moon brownies.…

C Is for Cake Guest Dessert Feature

We have been seeing some incredible cakes recently. From this Princess & The Pea cake to this Giggle & Hoot inspired cake, we love how cakes are becoming STARS. Lindsey from LOVEinc styled this party for her son’s birthday and made a  40 layer rainbow cake to be the headliner. Yes, 40 layers! To complement the cake, Lindsey made an Elmo Sundae bar.  Sweet treats included ice cream, waffle cones and bowls, Grover floats, Cookie…

Dinosaur Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
Alison from Alison Lawson cakes styled this party for her son’s 4th birthday. We love the dinosaur foot backdrop made from simple construction paper. It is such an easy and inexpensive way to make a splash on an ordinary white wall. The fantastic cake was inspired by the Ashlee Rae printables that she used. The menu for these prehistoric pee wees was divided into three sections; Carnivore Diet, Herbivore Diet and Dessertivore Diet {LOVE!}. Munchies…

Princess And The Pea Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
We have to start this blog post by talking about that fantastic cake. Jen from Jen Rayner Photography styled this table for her daughter’s birthday party. She wanted a Princess and the Pea party which inspired the cake. Jen made a Princess and the Pea bed out of biscuits for the head and footboard and layered strawberry and cream cake. It was covered in a fondant  bedspread with candy buttons and a little pea. Brilliant!…

Giggle And Hoot Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
The mother/daughter team Geri and Carole of Little Birdie Events in Australia styled this birthday party for twin girls. The theme for the party was Giggle and Hoot based on the Australian television show for kids. We love the cake and the orange and blue color palette. For the backdrop, Geri and Carole kept it simple using pom poms to bring in the color theme and add that vertical element. We love how the graphic…
