Brave Inspired Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
Disney’s Brave was a huge hit this year. This dessert table by DatNhan of Whisk Paper Scissors Studio was inspired by the movie. DatNhan called upon her friend Jill of The Uncommon Cake to create all of the sweets for the table. DatNhan created  a natural and woodsy vibe by using wood platters, fake foliage, burlap and moss. Key elements from the movie like Merida’s love of archery were incorporated into the table by way…

We are back with part III of the Cinderella inspired party that we’re featuring from Karen Ayars. If you missed Parts I and II, look here and here.  You won’t regret it!  After the little girls did all of their baking and sewing chores, they went to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, where they put on their finest blues to go to the ball. Cinderella Guest Dessert Feature – BeFOUR the Ball

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
We received this Cinderella inspired birthday party from Karen Ayars and there are so many stunning photos that we’re dividing it into three posts today {BeFOUR the ball….The Princesses…and the Sweets}.  Karen styled this party for her daughter who just turned four. She wanted to create a true fairy tale and bring in all of the elements from the wicked stepsisters to the handsome prince. The cloth-like rag invitation with a mop and bucket set…

In May, we featured this party that was inspired by the movie UP. We are back today with another UP inspired party that had so many creative elements. We LOVE the balloon backdrop. So creative. Sweet treats on the dessert table included rainbow cupcakes,…

Mary Poppins Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
This sweet Mary Poppins inspired tea party was sent to us by Jenny from Jenny cookies. This brought back elementary school memories since I played Mary in my fifth grade play! It was also the first broadway show that we took our kids to see.  Back to the party…..Jenny threw this party for her daughter. With 30 minutes to decorate the party, she had to move at “umbrella” speed. Jenny made six small cakes in…

Snow White Inspired Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
We received this Snow White inspired party from Susana and Clara at Dulce Sobremesa. We first met the Dulce Sobremesa ladies when they sent us this Amy Atlas Moment back in July. This Snow White table was for a little girl’s third birthday. Instead of using the classic red, blue and yellow colors, they used a light coral and aquamarine color palette with sunglow yellow and beige to make it softer. We love the banner…

UP Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
We have had so many amazing submissions hit our inbox lately, but this rainbow party brightened up our day! Jacki at Blissfully Sweet Cakes created this party for her son Ben’s birthday. Ben loves balloons. Always has. When he saw the Disney movie UP, he was hooked. Ben’s party was going to be a small family affair so Jacki decided to make a faux house cake (how amazing is that)?  Look at the edible rainbow…

Tinkerbell Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
We are loving everything about this Tinkerbell party that was sent to us by Krista Salmon of Kikis List.  Krista created this party for her daughter’s 3rd birthday.  The Heather Bailey pattern that she used for the backdrop was the inspiration for the color palette for the party. The enchanted Tinkerbell cake is beautiful.  Vibrant garden roses, ranunculus, peonies, viburnum and gerber daisies on tree trunks gave the otherwise kid vibe a sophisticated feel.  Fun…
