By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
We are sending you off into the weekend with this pretty circus themed party from Germany. This party was styled by Bettina from Beautiful Occasions for a little boy’s 7th birthday. Bettina took the inspiration from other circus parties and added a vintage vibe. Sweet treats on the dessert table included a rainbow cake covered with fondant stars, glittery chocolate covered marshmallow sticks, chocolate covered Oreos, cupcakes, macarons, and an array of candy. Drinks were…

Strong Man Carnival Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
This party was styled by Whitney from Bon Fortune for two special boys. The little brother has overcome a neurological speech disorder called Apraxia. For this joint birthday party, the family decided to give back to the speech center that helped him instead of accepting gifts. We love how the theme of the party was a “Strong Man” themed carnival party to celebrate the strength of the boys. Sweet treats on the dessert table included…

Carnival Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
This bright carnival party was styled by Sophie and Mia from Bon Bon Boutique for their niece’s birthday party. What fabulous Aunts!  They were inspired by the striking zig zag fabric they used for the backdrop. The cake was a layered chocolate and butter cream cake covered in fondant and wrapped in tickets. We love how they topped the cake with three cupcakes for additional height. Other sweet treats on the dessert table included carousel…

Burlesque Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions
We’re channeling Dita Von Teese in the Amy Atlas office today with this burlesque guest dessert feature. It’s a little different than what we normally post, but the clever ideas were too good not to post. This party was styled by Justine at Sensationally Sweets for a ‘Prohibition party.”  Velvet fabric, black lace, and gold sequins and glitter were used to bring in glamour. We love the carousel of burlesque dancer cupcakes inspired by the…

Anita & Ami from EyeCandy Cville styled this party for a family who was celebrating the adoption of four children. The ladies chose a carnival theme and executed it so well. We loved the three tiered cake covered in tickets to “Admit 4” featuring the children’s names.  Other sweet treats on the dessert table included “Apple of my Eye” candy apples, root beer cupcakes, funnel cake cupcakes, monogrammed ferris wheel cookies, cotton candy with “together…

Blame It On Rio Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
Today we are traveling from the heat of the safari to the tropics of Carnival! This submission came to us from Belinda from Styled By Belle. She created this party for the birthday party of Australian photographer Lee Bird’s daughter. Lee’s daughter wanted a “Rio” themed party based on the movie. Belinda chose a bright color palette to give the party that tropical feel that Brazil is known for. A multi-colored ruffle tablecloth was used…

Under the Big Top Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
This part was sent to us by Bird from Bird’s Party. She created this printable collection for her kids’ birthday.  Bird’s children were born on the same day two years apart.  She always finds it challenging to come up with a theme that will work for both age groups and genders. This year’s theme was “Under the Big Top”! For the invitations Bird wanted a “circus is in town poster” kind of look. Included in the…

Carnival Guest Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
We love carnival themes.  When we saw this bright and cheery dessert spread from Cake Designer Marisa Simon, we fell in love.  Our favorite detail on the table?  Those ice cream cupcakes!  We love the technique Marisa used to make the frosting look like ice cream!  The clean detail work of the diamond, striped, dotted cake is also fabulous.  Marisa bought all of the vessels at the Container Store.  She also made the paper decorations…
