By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
We shared this adorable Madeline party yesterday from Kirstin at Kojo Designs. Today we’re back with the sweet shoppe that she styled for dessert. Isn’t it amazing how a rainbow of colors and cute printables can simply brighten your mood? The yellow striped awning is also very cheery. The sweet shoppe had macarons, marshmallow twists, gumballs, and candy in every color of the rainbow. What a sweet way to end the week! Scroll down for…

Vintage Candy Table Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Kids
Glenda from Dressy Designs sent us this pretty vintage candy buffet that she created for a wedding. Glenda shopped at vintage stores to find props for her client. The table was made by Glenda’s husband out of a door and four legs that they found in the vintage stores. They painted the door blue and then distressed and glazed it. The DIY “SWEETS” burlap sign added an old fashioned touch. We love the how the…

Thanksgiving Corn Husk Cookie Recipe with Wrigley

By: Amy Atlas, in Amy's Latest, Recipes
Hello everyone.  Thanksgiving is just two days away and I thought I’d share a really fun recipe that we created with Wrigley.  We’ve partnered with Wrigley to show candy fans, party stylists, and DIY’ers everywhere how Wrigley gum and candy can be used in many other fun or delicious ways. It is so warm and humid out in NYC  it almost feels like Florida today. So much for tomorrow being the first day of fall! The citrus palette in this feature by Debbie of Sugar Plum Designs fits perfectly with the weather. Debbie created this table for a birthday girl whose favorite colors are orange & green. The table is symmetrical which helps to give a table with lots of color and pattern a refined…

Amy’s Cookbook Finds: Sweet Confections {+Giveaway!}

By: Amy Atlas, in Great Finds, Recipes, Swag
I think you all know by now that I have a slight obsession with cookbooks.  My husband and I laugh sometimes that cookbooks are to me what shoes were to Carrie Bradshaw, and that our home is slowly but surely being invaded by cookbooks. My collection rivals the Barnes and Noble cookbook section. While I read many books online now, there is something about flipping through the pages of a cookbook that I’ll never tire…

Willy Wonka Inspired Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
We fell in love with this post the minute that we saw it. Maybe it was the color palette, the creative use of the cabinet and scrabble pieces, the cake, or the combination of all three.  Either way, we felt like we won the golden ticket when this popped up in our inbox. Vesna from My Little Jedi created this dessert table for her son’s 2nd birthday party. The desserts complemented the color palette of…

Sweet {Now ‘n Later!} Backdrop Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
We were sent this cute and clever candy table by Michele Pentecost from Crazy for Design.  Michele created this table for her candy-a-holic sister’s birthday party.  I love how Michele used candy in creative and personal ways throughout the table.  The whimsical design for the backdrop was made from now and laters, one of the candies that they both ate as kids.  Michele also used candy necklaces to hang the tissue paper topiaries. On the…
