I’m back with another behind the scenes at Amy Atlas Events. If you saw our posts here and here, then you know we have been working on a nautical-inspired dessert table for a special client. This event took place at the American Yacht Club in Rye, NY. It could not have been a more beautiful weekend for an event. The idyllic view of the Long Island Sound filled with yachts set the tone for…

We’re busy bees at Amy Atlas Events, but I thought I’d share with you a behind the scenes sneak peek of what we’re working on. We’re crafting away and creating a lot of fun items for a party this weekend. I also brought in some talented folks to create some items for the event. Above is a picture of the staff at Baked Ideas creating some specialty fondant pieces for us (excuse the poor…

We’re swamped today, but I thought I’d show you a little sneak peek of our day yesterday. Yesterday was a BUSY day at Amy Atlas Events {who’s kidding…when is it not?}. First, we had a fun day propping for a special project we worked on. More to come on that in a few weeks. Then we headed over to the New York Gift Show and I had a chance to meet with some of…

Many people get confused about whether I’m a caterer/baker or a stylist/event planner. I’m really a home baker, but a stylist for my event business. When I first started creating my dessert tables as a hobby at my own parties, I was baking, crafting, sourcing the props, and putting it all together the day of. My friends out there reading this will remember it well because I’d ask them to help out. Well, maybe I…

I’m back today with our first vlog ever! Okay, a few things to keep in mind before we start…
#1 – We’re not production people so this is not our expertise so bear with us as we show you behind-the-scenes vlogs! Yes, the sound wasn’t great at points, but we’ll master that soon enough.
#2 – This was taken while propping around yesterday. We did this completely on a…

I’m back with some behind-the-scenes at Amy Atlas Events. This morning, I had the chance to talk about throwing an ice cream party on Martha Stewart Radio. Last time I was on Martha Radio, it was a blizzard in NYC on Valentine’s Day and we were talking about chocolate hot cocoa. Today was all about ice cream. I know some of you are ice cream-ed out with our InStyle story and the toppings bar…

Today we’re working on the design for a special client. I thought I’d share some behind-the-scenes with you on how we start our process. When we start designing, our first step is to speak with the client about general aesthetic. Then we start our design process by studying our pantone books to nail the colors right for the design. We then build an inspiration board for the event and then we start to build…
