G Is For Girl Guest Dessert Feature

This school-style party was styled by Jennifer from Sweeten Your Day Events for her friend’s baby shower. Each guest received a brown bagged lunch of a croissant sandwich, salad in a container, a cup of fruit, and alphabet cookies. A dessert table included sweet treats like peanut butter and jelly bars, mini apple pies, cookie and milk parfaits and a naked cake. We love the “#2 is on the way” flags on the #2 pencils!  …

Back To School Guest Dessert Feature

We know that many kids have started school already. Our kids don’t start school until after Labor Day, but this Back to School dessert table really got us geared up for the school year ahead. Dina from Deliciously Darling Events sent us this table that she styled for her kids. We met Dina at our Atlanta Williams Sonoma Book signing and she was just as cute as this table. Dina loved the rice krispie watermelon…

Clown School Guest Dessert Feature

This submission put a big smile on my face. It was sent to us by a reader named Jane and it was executed perfectly. Jane has a clown business in Australia called Home Made Parties so she styled a clown themed party for her daughter’s 9th birthday. Fourteen guests were sent to Clown School where they all received matching book bags complete with their own magic tricks and joke cards. They also decorated their own…

Top Student Guest Dessert Feature

This table came to us from Sandra and Yassmine of 3′s A Party. This ABC/123 school-themed party was created for Sandra’s nephew’s birthday. Sandra found great props including an old school bench, school bells and an old historical book dating back to the 1800′s. Guests were offered a lunch consisting of chicken sandwiches, yogurt, cheese & crackers and apples. Sweet treats included apple cake pops, chalkboard cupcakes, pencil and crayon sugar cookies and that fantastic…

Back to School Roundup Part I – Our Faves

Above:  We loved everything about this table from the chalkboard backdrop and linen, to the school inspired snacks. This party was created by Leoni from Just Call Me Martha for her daughter’s 4th birthday.…
Yesterday was the last day of camp for my boys.  Whenever camp ends for them, I get a little nostalgic about my kids starting a new year of school.  During the summer, they are completely carefree.  While school is not serious

School Days Guest “Dessert” Feature

How great is this exclusive faux dessert table that was sent to us by the ladies at One Charming Party?  All of the “treats” are school supplies.  Can we say BRILLIANT?  How fantastic is that pencil rubberband cake…?   We love the Elmer’s glue dressed up as a beverage, the eraser treats, the composition table surface, and the lunchboxes filled with scissors and highlighters.  This party would be perfect to send your little ones

Back To School Guest Feature

We’re on to our third school related post of the day.  I know that school is starting for some of you in a couple of weeks (for us, not until after Labor Day), so when I saw this I thought it was the perfect time to share.
One of the things I love my most about my “job” is that it allows me many opportunities to give back….  I have always been a big

Medical School Acceptance Guest Feature

We can’t get school off of our minds today. Earlier we shared a fun, DIY project that we created for Disney Family Fun while kids are out of school.  Here is our second submission of the day brought to us by Monica of The Creationz Studio. Monica created this table for her cousin Christina who just got accepted into medical school (congrats!). Her cousin is a HUGE fashion enthusiast {hence the “I will not read…

Back 2 School Guest Dessert Feature

There is nothing about this table that I don’t love.  Leoni from Just Call Me Martha down under sent us this table she created for her daughter’s 4th birthday party.  The theme of the party was Back to School since Australia’s summer break is about to end.  Leoni told us that she took her inspiration from our Back to School Bake Sale.  This table has so many creative elements.  The use of the chalkboard for…

Back-to-School Goody Bags

It’s back-to-school week for many kids across the country in the US and I’ll be sharing some great back-to-school baking and crafting ideas that we created for a magazine this week.  In the meantime, here is a fun and easy crafty diy project that you can do with your kids, nieces, nephews, etc.  These are colored paper sacks that are simply stamped with school stamps that we found here.  Simply fold over the bags, hole…

Back to School

By: Amy, in Recipes

My older son is starting Kindergarten tomorrow and to say that I am emotional would be an understatement. It seems like just yesterday that we welcomed him into the world, and now he is a confident, smart and sweet boy. We walked by his school today and he said to me “Mom, you don’t have to walk me in tomorrow, the teacher can do that.” Needless to say, there will be many tears tomorrow! As…
