This party was styled by Anita from EyeCandyCville for a couple who love chocolate. We love how Anita made poms from natural coffee filters. Twigs, mercury glass, crates and wood shutters created a rustic setting. Sweet treats on the dessert table included “grown up” milk and cookies (with shots of Kahlua and milk), pumpkin cheesecake pops, blueberry creme tartlettes, magic cookie bars, red velvet cupcakes, chocolate hazelnut mousse and wedding cake.  Guests were also treated to a s’mores bar with fixins to make their own s’mores.

Strawberries are in season right now and the farmers’ markets in NYC are chock full of them. This party, styled by Bird from Bird’s Party, is perfect for a spring fling or picnic party. Sweet treats on the dessert table included strawberry cake pops, cupcakes, macarons, meringues and a pretty pink cake topped with DIY fondant strawberries. Other great DIY elements included homemade jam party favors, crepe paper pomanders and ribbon cake bunting. A potting table was used to display the sweets, giving it rustic charm. Great job! This sweet party was styled by one of our readers, Trisha, for her daughter’s birthday. Trisha was inspired by a 1950′s ice cream parlor and used pastel pink and green hues with strong black and white contrasts. Sweet treats on the dessert table included a pink ruffled cake,  ice cream cookies, meringues, doughnuts and candy. Pretty, right? We hope you all had a good weekend.  Did you do anything fun?

We love this tutti fruity party by Sibel from Sibella Photography. Sibel created it for Food Allergy Awarness Week and made a food display that was strong on flavor with allergen-free ingredients. This table reminded us of the Fruit & Veggie Table we shared a few years back. We love the youthful vibe that this table emits, with the hanging paper fruit and the citrus colors. Sweet treats on the fruit table included star fruit served in pomegranate, avocados with sea salt, tzatziki dipped carrots and cucumbers, dragon fruit, sorbet shooters with star fruit, homemade jams, watermelon cubes, and pineapple cubes served in oversized pineapples! Fabulous.

Growing up, did you have a favorite doll?  I did. It was my Strawberry Shortcake doll and by the time I reached middle school, she had lost an eye, some hair and was raggedy, but I loved her nonetheless. This rag doll party was styled by Maggie and Cristina from Via Blossom for Cristina’s daughter’s birthday and brought back memories of that doll! We love how Maggie and Cristina incorporated scraps of fabric throughout the party to play off the rag doll theme. You can see fabric cast-offs tied around the beverage glasses, the centerpiece favors, and the runner on the table. Sweet treats on the dessert table included flower cake pops in mini planters, caramel eclairs, cookies, bite size brownies and a pink ombre ruffled cake. There are not enough words to describe how much we love this cake pop display (scroll down below for a tutorial on how to create the tissue paper fire backdrop). This five alarm party was styled by Virginie at That Cute Little Cake for her little boy’s second birthday. Virginie found a design of his favorite cartoon character, Fireman Sam, in a book and knew she had to make that cake for him. She styled a dessert table of a buildings on fire using cardboard, construction paper, and tissue paper. Fireball cake pops, ladder sugar cookies, and fire hydrants with a licorice hose were part of the display. The birthday lunch was served in fire buckets which doubled as a container for them to take home sweet treats. The tiny guests were given favor boxes in the shape of buildings filled with  “fire” sweets (red, yellow, orange jelly beans). Brilliant! Scroll down for the vendor credits.

There were no Jedi mind tricks with this fun party from Suzanne of Mon Tresor for a little boy’s 5th birthday party. He is an avid star wars fan so she created a party centered around that theme.  Sweet treats on the dessert table included birthday cake, lightsaber cupcakes, lego chocolate cakepops, macarons and an assortment of candy highlighted by Star Wars labels. Each little Jedi received their own lightsaber and Jedi robe upon arrival and were entertained by themed games such as Princess Leia pass the parcel, galaxy jump, destroy Darth Vader pinata and Jedi training. Living in NYC does not allow for many ladybug sightings. We are getting our dose today though with this adorable party by Kelli from Parties by KLM for a little girl’s 2nd birthday. The birthday girl’s mother wanted the “Lovebug” ladybug theme because that is what they call their daughter. We adore all of the clever treats on the dessert table including the strawberry ladybugs, cake pop ladybugs, raspberry tarts, Oreo garden shooters. ladybug decorated Oreos, cupcakes, decorated cookies and the two tiered garden ladybug cake. Great job! Good Morning all. I’m not one for sharing a lot of pics of my family on here as I’m quite protective of my clan, but I had the urge to put a picture up of mom this am. I feel so very lucky to have my mom. There really isn’t any bond quite like it, right? She’s there for me unconditionally and I’m appreciating that more and more lately.

Happy Mother’s Day to my mom, my wonderful mother-in-law, and all of the moms out there. I have a few friends who have lost their moms over the last few years and as always, I will be thinking of them.

How will you be celebrating your mom this Sunday?

This pattern driven and colorful party was styled by Julie from Frame & Bow in Australia to celebrate the joint birthday of her son and daughter. Julie found most of her inspiration in the Aztec prints, chevron patterns and bright colors that she saw recently in fashion. How great is that cake and the patterned chocolate bar wrappers? Other sweet treats on the dessert table included chocolate truffles, cookies, cupcakes, and jelly in recycled baby food jars. Fantastic.
