Farm Stand Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
This Farm Stand dessert table was sent to us by Jeannie from The Pastry Tip. We were recently on eastern Long Island and it seemed that every block had homemade farm stands filled with fresh fruit and vegetables. While many have visions of peach or blueberry pies when they see these stands, Jeannie’s vision was to create a sweets table filled with sugar cookies that looked like blueberries, strawberries, peaches, lemons, watermelon, as well as…

Farmyard Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
This adorable “moo-ve on into the farmyard” party sent to us by Elif in Melbourne is fantastic. Elif created this table for her son’s first birthday. We kind of fell in love with the horse on the fabulous cake. Other sweet treats on the dessert table included egg cake pops, cupcakes, honey joys, and candy. Elif’s husband got into the barn action by making jam and custard tarts. We love the use of hay and…

Farm Party Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
We had to share with you this dessert table that was styled by Coby from The Lemony Cupcake in Australia.  How gorgeous is this?  Coby designed this table for a little girl’s first birthday.  Her client wanted a “Hairy MacLary/Farm Party” theme.  Coby, who grew up in Brisbane, got her inspiration from her home town and the many weekends she spent on her parent’s property.  We love the apple berry buckets and the soft red…

Curious George Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
We’re bananas over the details of this party by Angie of Whimsy Farm Twine. Since Angie’s daughter Lorelai loves Curious George books, Angie incorporated everyone’s favorite monkey for the theme at her daughter’s birthday party. The brown, yellow, red, and white is not a typical girly palette, but it is perfect for this theme. Have you noticed that brown is finally making a comeback to kid’s parties? Angie brought in some great props for party…

Halloween Candy Corn Bar

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
Jessica of Party Pants sent over this fun Candy Corn party and we love it. When the little guests arrived, they changed into candy corn striped tutus and embellished their hair with adorable candy corn clips. They then headed over to a candy corn dessert table to fill their trick-or-treat bags. A candy corn cake was the Pièce de résistance and was flanked by apothecary jars with 10 types of candy corn! There were also…

Barnyard Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
We’re headed to a barn today with this fun birthday party from Maria of Invento Festa in Brazil. We love the perwinkle and orange color palette, which is offset by the striking iconic black and white cow print. Cacti, hay bales, egg crates, and bandanas played a prominent role in the design. Sweet treats on the dessert table included cow print apples with bells {love!}, farm animal cupcakes, chick cakepops, a barnyard bandana cake, “moo”…

A Fizzy Drink that You’ll Devour: Sour Cherriade Recipe

By: Amy Atlas, in Great Finds, Recipes
Just yesterday, the First Department of the Appellate Division of NY unanimously ruled against Mayor Bloomberg’s Soda Ban by upholding a former NY Supreme Court ruling. All this soda talk got us thinking about soda in our office, especially since I’m a recovering Diet Coke drinker. I pulled out Andrew Schloss’ Homemade Soda book from my cookbook collection. This book has homemade soda recipes, often incorporating fresh fruits and herbs. I found a Sour Cherry…

Anne of El’uccellino Design styled this “birds and the Mommy to bee” dessert table for a client’s baby shower. Anne brought in burlap and birdcages to play up the theme. Sweet treats on the…

This week was the 59th Summer Fancy Food Show in NYC. My team and I walked our annual trek through over 2,000 vendor booths to find out the scoop on new confectionary products. Here is our list for what we’re loving this year. (1) Droga Chocolates – Michelle Crochet’s rocky road chocolates are pretty rad and their honey chocolates are to. die. for. Think oozy sweet honey melting in your mouth. Killer. She also has…

Strong Man Carnival Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
This party was styled by Whitney from Bon Fortune for two special boys. The little brother has overcome a neurological speech disorder called Apraxia. For this joint birthday party, the family decided to give back to the speech center that helped him instead of accepting gifts. We love how the theme of the party was a “Strong Man” themed carnival party to celebrate the strength of the boys. Sweet treats on the dessert table included…

Eat Drink & Be Thankful Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids
Can you believe that we’re already talking about Thanksgiving? We love the Thanksgiving tabletop ideas for the kids table in this “Eat, Drink & Be Thankful” shoot sent to us by Deanna from Mirabelle Creations. Deanna placed simple kraft paper over her linen on the kids table and then bordered the paper with orange polka dot ribbon. This is an inexpensive and simple way to give your tabletop an autumnal feel. Another easy, but fun…

Last week, we showed you this beautiful Cinderella party that featured amazing plate and silverware cookies from Baked Perfection. Today, Tiffany from Baked Perfection is the star of the ball.  She sent us this dessert table that she styled to celebrate the arrival of her newest nephew. This party reminds us of this party that we featured last year and included many similar elements, but we’re loving it in the blue palette as well.  Tiffany…
