We have a fantastic post today to get you over the hump! Nikki from Tikkido styled this party for her daughter’s birthday. Nikki was inspired by one of her favorite childhood books called Mud Pies and Other Recipes Floral Baking Party Guest Dessert Feature by Marjorie Winslow. The ingredients in the recipes of the book are sticks, flower petals, and dirt and Nikki did an incredible job incorporating that into the party details. We love the floral bunting that she created using pretty fabric and sticks. The little bakers had a boxed lunch of peanut butter and honey “sand”-wiches, bread “sticks,” fresh garden leaves salad, and berries. Sweet treats on the dessert table included peanut butter mud-pies {naturally}, top soil brownies, chocolate pudding “dirt” parfaits, roasted fudge rocks, Nutella mud puddles, and Calico cookies, all made by Nikki. After eating lunch, the girls donned their aprons and chef hats {also made by Nikki}, and got cooking!  They gathered ingredients from the yard, and used the ingredients in the canisters on the table {Stone Ground Stones, Savory Sticks, and Sugar-Fine Sand} to create their tempting mud-pies.

Baking, Crafting and Photography all by Nikki Willis for Tikkido.

FUN FACT: It is believed that Mississippi Mud Pie was created by home cooks after World War II because it was made of simple ingredients that could be found at any supermarket and did not require any special cooking tools. {Source: Wikipedia}

    I love the beautiful rustic decor in the backdrop of the adorable mud pie theme. This is such a fun way to engage children while maintaining the integrity of your own brand and elevating a child’s party to one that they will likely never forget.
