I ADORE Lucite. Whether it is for interiors, fashion or party design, using Lucite allows you to bring in color and light in a brilliant way. Lucite can be tinted virtually any color and can be transparent, opaque {think milk-glass!}, or opalescent Moonglow. I love wearing Lucite cuffs and necklaces during the summer. My prop closet is also filled with Lucite in many shapes and sizes because it is so versatile for parties. I’ve had Lucite cut into shapes for custom placemats, vessels, and table runners. Your Lucite can go over pretty patterned paper to bring in color and pattern. You can also find reasonably priced tumblers like these or you can use ready made coasters and trays like the ones above. How do you use Lucite?  I’d love to hear!

Fun Fact: Did you know Lucite was first invented in the 1930s and used for war supplies during WWII? After the war, it became popular for jewelry and accessories, especially rings and handbags.
