Lauren at the Lennon Wall in Prague.
We have to say, we have been extremely fortunate with the interns that we have had on our team. This summer is no exception. Today we are introducing you to our very talented Style & Design intern Lauren. Not only is she a great crafter, stylist and designer, but she’s also a talented illustrator. Quadruple threat. We adore having her on our team!
WHAT IS YOUR ROLE AT AAE:
I am the “design and style intern” but I like to consider myself the creative intern. One day I will be putting together an inspiration board and then the next day I will be taking pictures for the blog. Even though I am an intern, my input is always taken into consideration.
WHAT BROUGHT YOU TO US:
I am a creative person with a love of sweets. I never knew a job that combined my love of art and desserts would EVER exist, so when I came across articles of Amy Atlas Event’s gorgeous dessert tables, I knew I had to get the job!
YOU JUST DID A SEMESTER ABROAD. WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE CITY AND WHY?
My favorite city by far was Prague. It is the most beautiful city in the world. You feel like you’re in a fairytale. Coming from New York where skyscrapers dominate the landscape, the historical aspects of Prague made me fall in love.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SWEET:
Red Velvet! Red Velvet cake, cupcakes, cookies, anything Red Velvet … you name it.
WHAT HAS BEEN THE BEST PART OF YOUR INTERNSHIP:
The best part of my internship so far is getting to know the business. I have been very involved with the blog, creating inspiration boards and going out to see what the world of sweets has to offer. All have been an amazing experience so far. Getting to eat the desserts doesn’t hurt either.
WHAT ARE YOU DOING AFTER YOU LEAVE US?
I am going back to Ann Arbor to finish my senior year at the University of Michigan. Graduating next year, with my BA in art, I hope to continue my involvement in the business of sweet styling!
