  8. My favorite dessert to make for loved ones are Brigadeiro balls. They are easy to make. Always make a big impression. And adults and children enjoy them. Brigadeiro is a Brazilian dessert made wih only three ingredients: sweetned condensed milk, cocoa powder and butter. You cook it on the stove or a microwave and once it’s cool and firm you roll it into little balls. In brazil you can find tiny baking cups (smaller than the cupcakes one) where you place them after you roll each ball on chocolate sprinkles. They are sweet, bite sized and everybody loves it!

  11. Oh my, everyone’s responses look soooo yummy! I like to make a lot of different desserts and I especially LOVE trying new things. Right now, I’ve been on a gourmet cupcake thing so that’s probably what I’ll be making. Dark chocolate or red velvet, maybe with some cream and a really yummy frosting. Doesn’t sound as fancy as the others, but still yummy.

  12. My family (and everyone who has ever tried it) begs for the sour cream-chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting and chocolate peanut butter glaze from the Sky High Cakes cookbook. The cake is so light and the cream cheese peanut butter frosting so rich but ganache balances it out perfectly. I make them as cupcakes so that each bite is a perfect proportion of each flavor.

  13. A hit with my family is always Chocolate Eclair!

You layer graham crackers and vanilla pudding and top with chocolate fudge frosting! Yummy!

  14. Ice Cream Dessert Cake. Graham Cracker Crust, Ice Cream, Hot Fudge, Caramel, Nuts. So simple yet so good! :)

The filling of my cake is one layer of Whipped cream cheese frosting and one layer of ganache made with the amazing chocolate truffel candy “Riesen”. This ganashe makes the cake moist and incredibly creamy.
I then cover my cake with vanilla flavored buttercream and if i also want to make it really pretty, I will finaly cover it with fondant and decorate it.
For this Valentine’s day this cake vill get to be the center of my Valentines day dessert table.

  21. Mine isn’t going to be the yummiest sounding, but I have several go to recipes that my grandmother’s wrote in their hand for me years ago. I love those cards because they were written down just for me. We have strawberry shortcake and the cake is more of a slightly sweet soda bread that is perfect with sweet berries and homemade whipped cream, then there is an old fashioned banana bread recipe that EVERYONE loves and can be a loaf or just as good as muffins or mini muffins and also I love my snickerdoodle recipe because my grandmother showed me how to make it so she didn’t really write down the directions… I always have to stop and think a minute about the afternoon at the cottage to remember exactly what she said about the butter / shortening ratio and whether I was suppose to sift the flour – we just shook the flour jar, and laughed. Thanks for the memories!! :)

The key is to use LOTS of chocolate chips and under bake them just slightly so they’re nice and gooey. Yum!

  55. My family’s favorite thing that I’ve made is a salted caramel cheesecake! The cheesecake is made with dulce de leche to give it a delicious caramely flavor, and homemade salted caramel is poured on top of the cheesecake. If you like cheesecake and caramel then you’ll love this dessert. :)

  77. Our 19 month old twins are OBSESSED with sprinkles. So my favorite dessert to make with them right now is a batch of good old fashioned sugar cookies. They love to help me roll out the dough and cut it into shapes (we have some heart and XOXO cutters for Valentine’s Day.) We whip up some frosting and they each get to lick a beater and then I put out an assortment of types of sprinkles and they go to town ‘decorating’ (aka devouring) the frosted cookies. :)

  78. Peanut Butter & Chocolate Swirl brownies. Or Aloha brownies with pineapple & coconut in the brownie – cream cheese frosting.

  79. I have three wonderful children ages 1, 5 & 7. The oldest two love to help me when I’m in the kitchen and we enjoy making, decorating (and eating) sugar cookies. I have a great recipe I use for the dough and the icing. We have fun cutting out different shapes, icing them and then decorating them. It’s nothing fancy, but it’s so fun.

  80. Molten chocolate cake with Raspberry lava! Everytime I make them for valentines people ask me why I made just regular choclate cake(which still sounds good to me!). but then when they take a bite and see the red soft center starts filling their plate they understand! This is so much fun every single time.
