Halloweekend Countdown: Spooky Supper

Halloween Party Ideas White Chocolate Mummies

Halloween is only a few days away and we love this spooky dinner party by Nikki at Nikki Ikkin. Her party was inspired by Dennison Bogie books. She used fringed paper to mimic the illustrations in the book. Sweet treats included scary black cat and spider web cookies, mummy Oreo pops and a three-tiered Trick-or-Treat cake. Since the dinner party was small, the top two tiers of Nikki’s cake were made of Styrofoam. “Black Magic” candy apples were tinted black and dipped in black sanding sugar. Great job.

  • Thank you Amy and Lisa! Im exceptionally honored to be featured today during NYC’s Hurricane Sandy. My family is happy to be home together and my featured dinner party brightens our day. Stay safe everyone and take care!

Can you tell us more about the back and white backdrop Nikki?

    • Sure! I used rolls of crepe paper from Papermart.com, they are are only $2 a roll & 6 rolls covered my 12 foot wall. Crepe paper (not exactly the same as streamers) is strong and easy to cut. After cutting strips I folded it a few times to cut the fringe through multiple layers. Hung with tape and fluffed! I was sad to take it down after the party, it was so dramatic and fun to look at 🙂

Can you tell where you found the dancing witches template. I would love to do a cake with them this Halloween.

    Thank you

  • Hello,
    Very successful this cake. Congratulations!
I liked it a lot and if I may I would like to try to make one myself but I need to like my bum dancing witches image (those on the second floor) Thanks!
