Behind The Book Tour: The Final Leg

Williams Sonoma Sweet Designs Book Tour San Francisco Amy Atlas

We finally had a chance to upload the photos of our last three book stops for our Sweet Designs book tour with Williams-Sonoma. Our last stops were the flagship store in San Francisco, Beverly Hills, and Atlanta.  We were starting to get really tired by the end of the tour, but the energy of the people we met at the events kept us going. Scroll down to see all of the pictures and get the behind-the-scenes re-cap.

The Williams-Sonoma flagship store in San Francisco was a real treat. Have you ever been in there?  It is four floors of cooking/kitchen heaven!  We LOVED working with Jenny and the crew from that store.  The event was at night and we had some crafty kids who came out with their moms. Event professionals like Amy Nichols came out to support us, too. We also met talented bakers who we’ll be featuring later this week. We were only in San Francisco for a few hours, but this crew left a wonderful impression on us.  Thank you San Francisco!  Right after San Francisco, we had to fly to Beverly Hills. Scroll down to find out about our adventure getting there!

Oh, Beverly Hills.  If only we magically landed on Rodeo Drive like the picture below suggests. We actually had a planes, trains and automobiles experience getting to Beverly Hills. After being up for nearly 24 hours and being in multiple cities in one day, Lisa and I found ourselves stuck on a runway for hours before our flight could take off for LA. What was worse was that we had to be on set for this Access Hollywood segment in just 4 hours bright and early at 6am. Thankfully, that plane finally took off and we made it to LA in time for the segment!  After a full day of meetings in LA and being up for over 45 hours, Lisa and I finally had some sleep. We then had a full day of shopping and pool time before our event in Beverly Hills. Even though we had both been away from our kids and husbands, we really relished the pool time that day. It was pure bliss.

The Beverly Hills event was really great, too.  There were so many fantastic bakers, stylists, and entrepreneurial women who were there. Event masters like our friends Mindy Weiss and Alyson Fox came out to support us – thanks ladies!  Sweets Indeed was there. Our friends and family in LA showed up. It was really lovely. Go Beverly Hills!

A little over a week after Beverly Hills {and after some quality time with our families in NYC}, we made our way down to the south to Atlanta….ahem, HOTlanta! I do not use that term lightly. We thought we were going to melt on that trip! We were in Atlanta for the weekend and tried some treats at Highland Bakery and The Pie Shop. Our wedding planner friend Ashley Baber showed us around town. Yes, we had peach cobbler and pie. Delish. We were also greeted with the most lovely crowd at the Lenox Mall in Atlanta. Our friend and cake pop inventor Bakerella came to the event and took us out for a yummy lunch after. I did a personal signing for her in my hotel parking lot {see below}. Heather from Occasions Magazine,Talking with Tami, Gail Johnson Weddings, and gluten-free baker Dorangela of Two Prince were also there. We met many more talented stylists and bakers so stay tuned for our roundup of people we discovered on the tour.

A big THANK YOU to Williams-Sonoma for hosting this wonderful tour. We feel very lucky to have met our supporters through these events in your stores. Working with your bakeware products and serving pieces also made my demos effortless. Each and every team from the various WS locations across the nation greeted us with open arms and have a special place in our hearts.

Thank you to ALL of the wonderful people who traveled to meet us at all of the events. It was so rewarding hearing your personal stories and getting to meet you all.  Blogging about this experience has been like keeping a journal of this special time for me and I personally remember each and every one of you.  You made this tour so special and every minute away from our families was 100% worth it because of you. Thank you for coming out to support the book.

For those who couldn’t make it, we hope you have had a virtual glimpse of what it was like to be on tour with us.  xoxo
