Cake Stand Giveaway!

By: Amy Atlas, in Great Finds, Swag

Happy Leap Day everyone! Since this day comes only once every four years, we wanted to do something special for you guys. I think you all know how much I love to create new vessels from items that I have around my warehouse. I’ve created lots of cake stands by gluing items together {i.e. cake stands by attaching candlesticks to plates}. Tori from The Daily Grommet sent us this Fusionbrands serveitup stand and we think it is fantastic! The serveitup  stand is a porcelain stem with a suction cup on top that securely attaches to flat, nonporous plates and bowls. What is great about this product is that it allows you to repurpose every day plates in your home. They are easy to stack and would be perfect for creating a dessert stand. When your party is over, all you have to do is pull the tab to release your plate from the stem. Just think of all the space you can save!!

Daily Grommet is giving away a set of one small and one large serveitup stand to one lucky reader. To win, you must be a fan of Amy Atlas Events on Facebook and leave a comment below telling us what you would use the serveitup for. One winner will be chosen from all of the comments/entries posted below. Giveaway ends on Friday, March 2nd at 11:59 PM EST. Winner will be contacted via email and will need to respond with requested information within 48 hours or an alternate winner will be chosen. Amy Atlas Events LLC and the sponsor reserves the right to cancel or end the contest at any time.

Good luck!

What a great idea!! Living in a cramped NYC apartment, I have resorted to renting cake stands or buying disposable cardboard ones just so that I do not have to sleep with them the other 360 days out of the year! This is so perfect! My son’s 1st birthday is in a couple weeks and I would love to use these to display cake pops that I am making for the first time – thanks to all the inspiration from your blog!

What a great find, and smart! I’d use the serveitup to justify to my husband just why our cupboard’s crammed with so many oddball treasures – plates and bowls – that I’ve collected from yard sales, shops, and friends. Each precious find would finally have its day in the sun, serving up something special and earning its keep. Yay!

  • Becky

My son (currently a college sophmore art student:) made me a beautiful dish (while a High School Freshman) in ceramics class. The colors on this plate are gorgeous! Swirls of Nuetral Golds/Browns/Greens. I would put this dish on the stand, arrange sticks, etc. to resemble a large bird’s nest. Fill it with faux blue robin eggs, purchased from a craft store, or better yet with colored Easter Eggs. The final touch would be attaching a beautiful faux feathered bird on the rim. Wallah!!! The perfect “nesting inspired” Spring Centerpeice. Using handcrafted natural materials all gathered upon top of (and raised to great heights)~this gorgeous stand.

  • allison

I’ve been looking for a stand just like this! I’m 15 and have never taken a baking class, so I pretty much teach myself, and it’s been going surprisingly well! (I have a photo album of some of the cakes ive made on my Facebook page 🙂 And since I’m new to baking, I’m always looking for new supplies to help me move forward. Especially since new tools and things like this can be so expensive. Stands like these would be perfect to display the cakes and desserts I make for other people!
