Where The Wild Things Are Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids

The book “Where the Wild Things Are” was one of my favorite stories growing up, and now it is one of those classics that I read to my own boys. I still love looking at Maurice Sendak’s illustrations, so I was very excited when I saw this party inspired by the classic book from Nikki.  Nikki created this party for her son’s birthday and she did a great job capturing the wild forest. We love Nikki’s use of props. Her handmade backdrop made of tissue paper poms, origami flowers & fans transported us into Max’s forest. Nikki used faux green “grass” fur on both the tablescape and the back of the invitations. The inside of the cake had two tone striped layers of orange and brown cake, just like Carol’s striped shirt. Other sweet treats included cake pops in the shape of Max’s crown and wild thing cupcakes. Kids took home wild beast cookies and a set of twig crayons. Let the wild rumpus start!
